Ciara backstage at Chastain Park Ampitheater in Atlanta (July 12th 2009)

Inclement weather in Atlanta Sunday night (Jul 12) forced Jay-Z and Ciara to cancel their concert last night at Chastain Park Amphiteater. The thunder and rain wasn’t the problem, we hear. It was the lightening! And the seats at Chastain Park are made of metal, so yeah … that would NOT have been a good look.

Our friend FreddyO was able to catch up with Ciara and take a few pictures though:

Ciara told me how she was just getting over the flu when Jay-Z walked in (he had just got off a private jet). I have to say that he was so cool and laid back, I would have gotten pictures but I didn’t have my camera at the time. Jay tried to speak to everyone that was in the room. CiCi was the opening act and Jay Z was going to be joined by Memphis Bleek and Free Way. The concert does not have a new date as of now in Atlanta because Jay-Z was supposed to come back in the fall when his album drops.

Michael Jackson with his mother Katherine

According to the New York Post, Katherine Jackson and Debbie Rowe, mother of Michael Jackson’s two eldest kids, have reportedly struck up a secret deal. Rowe apparently has agreed not to pursue custody for the kids as long as Joe Jackson does not have any part in raising them.

“The last thing she wanted was for those kids to be looked after by Joe and go through what Michael went through,” a source told the paper. ‘When [Rowe and Jackson] were [married], Michael poured out his heart about how much he loathed Joe for what he had done.”

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan hasn’t been receiving the best criticism from the media, nor has she been making the best decisions in terms of her career (she turned down starring in the hit movie “The Hangover”). Despite all this, it seems that things may be looking up for the actress because she has decided to become her own boss and start her own production company with her current business partner Kristi Kaylor. The two have named the company Unforgettable Productions.

Kaylor and Lohan are said to be developing a number of TV and movie projects, including a show called “Faux Real,” described as an Entourage-like show about the world of fashion. They also have a game show in the works, tentatively called “That’s What Friends Are For,” and a “docu-cause” TV project following an undisclosed charity.

We think this is a good idea to getting back on the map. Hopefully she doesn’t make anymore bad decisions, like backing out of a movie that made over $40 million its first weekend.

Jay-Z & 50 Cent

Rapper Jay-Z unsurprisingly ranked Number 1 on Forbes’ Hip-Hop Cash Kings List 2009 with fellow hip hop stars Diddy, Kanye West, 50 Cent and Akon rounding out the top 5. Now, 50 is promising that he will top the list next year:

“I’m on deck,” 50 said in an interview. “I’m loaded. Call me ‘four’ this year, and then you call me ‘one’ next year, because I’m really preparing for my cycle. They’re fine…What kind of person would be upset at what position they fall when they’re on the Forbes list. That person would be a complete idiot.”

It is rumored that 50 will be releasing his new album on September 11th, the same day Jay-Z will release Blueprint 3. Who do you think will come on top with their album release? We say Jay-Z!

Steve McNair

NFL quarterback Steve McNair was buried Saturday after what is being called one of the biggest funerals in Mississippi’s recent history. The service was held in the Reed Green Coliseum on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi. Almost 5,000 fans and old friends showed up to pay their last respects to the late athlete. Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young got emotional while speaking briefly about McNair:

“Steve was like a hero to me, and heroes are not supposed to die,” Young said before stopping to rub his eyes as he talked about the man he knew from football camps as a teenager.

Steve McNair was shot and killed on July 4th by his girlfriend, who then shot herself in the head. The death was ruled a “murder-suicide” shortly thereafter.

The Dream & Christina Milian at JET Nightclub in Las Vegas (July 4th 2009)

Singer Christina Milian has a new song out with her fiancee, The Dream. Bruno

If you are an overly masculine straight man that’s so confident in who you are that you want nothing to do with a hint of homosexuality, do not see this movie! If you are gay and take extreme offense at overly flamboyant portrayals of gays, you should not see this movie! Brüno is more outrageous and offensive than its 2006 predecessor Borat.

Sacha Baron Cohen plays an extremely flamboyant fashionista who takes to Los Angeles for fame when he is sacked from his cable show “Funkyzeit.” While attempting to become “the most famous Austrian since Hitler,” Brüno, launches himself into a series of jaw-dropping acts; while some are funny, others fall short and feel staged and contrived.

Kanye West & Lady Gaga

Despite her instant success and massive cross-over appeal, Pop singer Lady Gaga is broke! Or so she says…

She insists that she has no money due to her elaborate stage shows and expensive costumes.

“I’ve gone bankrupt about four times now. My manager wants to shoot me! Every dollar I earn goes on the show. Now we’re finally getting to a place where it’s not bankruptcy. Then again, with another tour coming up soon I’ll probably be homeless again.”

She also maintains that she’s single and doesn’t have a boyfriend. But that doesn’t mean that she’s not riding any disco sticks…

Beyonce (circa: 2003)

A new Beyonce track has leaked from the latest Tapemasters Inc. mixtape. The song is called Ice Cream Truck – peep it below.

D/L: Ice Cream Truck

First, let’s clarify on the age of this song. It’s new to the ears, but old in the sense that it was recorded about 6 or 7 years ago for Dangerously In Love, Beyonce’s solo debut. But overall, we’re glad this wasn’t released. It sounds like something that belongs on Destiny’s Child’s Survivor album along with songs like “Brown Eyes”, “Apple Pie A La Mode”, and “Nasty Girl”. But hey, look on the bright side! This song here proves how far her vocals have grown from then to now.
