Lil Mama

Lil Mama chatted it up with our people over at Rap Up the day after Michael Jackson died and compared him to Jesus Christ. We couldn’t make this sh*t up if we tried…

“Jesus Christ touched so many people. The story that they gave of this man. … He healed people. Michael Jackson did the same thing, not only with his music, but with his performance and his personality.”

And the funny thing is she was DEAD serious. We love Michael Jackson too … but Jesus? Not Jesus (pronounced hay-zoose), but Jesus (pronounced gee-zus) Christ? That’s a little much…

Beyonce

Beyonce has topped another Forbes list once again. This time, the 27 year old entertainer is being named the “Best Paid Celebrity Under 30″ with her estimated earnings of $87 million between June 1, 2008 and June 1, 2009. Her fortune comes from big-paying projects such as her tour, movies, clothing line, and being the spokesperson for brand giants such as L’Oreal and Nintendo. Pop princess Britney Spears and basketball player LeBron James made it to the top five. Usher // Michael Jackson's Public Memorial at Los Angeles' Staples Center

Wearing dark sunglasses and a single yellow rose pinned to his jacket, a noticeably emotional Usher performed “Gone Too Soon,” a track from Michael Jackson’s 1991 Dangerous album, at the King of Pop’s farewell service Tuesday (Jul 7) in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.

Michael Jackson's kids at his public memorial at Los Angeles' Staples Center

Ever since news broke of Michael Jackson’s surprising death, people speculated on whether or not his three children, Paris, Prince and “Blanket,” would attend any of the services. He tried so hard to keep them out of the public eye for so long that people weren’t so sure that he would have wanted them front and center, especially at an extremely difficult time like this. Losing a parent at any age is a lot to deal with, but with Michael’s children being so young (his oldest, Prince, is only 12 years old) we’re sure they took his death very hard. But they did, indeed, attend the public memorial, held Tuesday (Jul 7) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. And throughout the entire service, were comforted by their aunts and uncles. We said this on Twitter after the service wrapped:

If there was any question about who should have custody of MJ’s kids, this memorial service showed it should be the Jacksons
