Rihanna has been out and about a lot this week up in New York City. Thursday (Jun 18) night she was spotted on her way to her hotel in Manhattan rocking a leopard print coat and boots as it rained outside.

R&B singer/songwriter The Dream, along with rapper Fabolous, already share the same Def Jam Records imprint, but now they both share the cover of the August 2009 issue of XXL Magazine, which also doubled as the “Hip-Hop Soul Issue.”

This special edition of the popular hip-hop magazine focuses on the connection between hip-hop and R&B and will feature interviews with “Loso” and “The American Dream,” in addition to an essay on the history of hip-hop soul and a package featuring the Top 10 Hip-Hop Soul singers, songwriters and producers to look out for in 2010. Jennifer Lopez and her pregnant belly were seen on the set of her new movie The Back-Up Plan Wednesday (Jun 17) afternoon in Los Angeles. Oh yeah … we should mention that the pregnant belly is actually fake.

The movie’s plot centralizes around a woman who is unlucky in the pursuit of love, so in her determination to have a baby of her own, she decides to get artificially inseminated. Back-Up plan is set to be released in January 2010. Continue reading for a few more pics of J.Lo on the set.

In a new interview, Soulja Boy said that he doesn’t really have any competition in the game on account of him having his “own lane.” He also cited Michael Jackson as the inspiration for his stage presence.

“I don’t really look at nobody as competition,” Soulja said. “I feel like I got my own lane, and I don’t have to worry about nobody. Anybody I feel is competition, I gotta knock them out the box. If there’s anybody that ever crossed my mind — [where] I say, ‘Man, he might be a problem for me,’ then I’mma have to get rid of him.

Rihanna already has to testify against her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown Monday in court, but if a university professor gets his way, she just might have to make another court appearance pretty soon. The pop singer is currently renting a Los Angeles home owned by Stephen Yacobian, and UCLA design and media art professor Christian Moeller lives next door to the home. Apparently, Moeller gave Yacobian an easement, which gives Yacobian the right to drive cars on a portion of Moeller’s property.

Apparently the property was renovated two years ago and the easement wasn’t really being used and now Moeller claims that Rihanna lets cars drive on his lawn to get to her driveway. And according to the suit, which was filed in LA Tuesday, sometimes the cars just sit there (unmoved) on the lawn. So to make a long story short, Moeller wants the easement eliminated and he wants Rihanna to pay up for allowing her guests and their cars to trespass on his property.

New R&B girl group RichGirl has officially been added as the opening act for the North American leg of Beyonce’s “I Am… Tour.” Audra Simmons, one of the ladies in the four member group, announced the news via her Twitter Tuesday:

According to People.com, pop singer Britney Spears is not engaged to be married. A source denounced rumors of her planning to tie the knot with her agent-turned-boyfriend Jason Trawick.

Star Magazine put out a story Wednesday claiming that Spears, who has already been married twice (her first one only lasted 55 hours), was planning to “walk down the aisle again” with Trawick, but the source says that there’s “no truth to it at all.”

“There’s no truth to it at all. Britney is not engaged,” says the source.
