Michael Strahan and Nicole Murphy Are Engaged!

While Usher & Tameka, and Nas & Kelis go through pretty nasty divorces, former footballer Michael Strahan and his girlfriend of just a year, Nicole Murphy, are going to try their hand at marriage. The 37-year-old former New York Giants star popped the question to Murphy (ex-wife of actor/comedian Eddie Murphy) on a beach in the Bahamas with what People.com calls a “stunning canary yellow and white diamond ring.”

“I have a great relationship and she’s a great girl,” says Strahan, who is a father of four. “I don’t like to talk much about my private life, but I’m really happy.”

Murphy, who has five children of her own with her ex-husband Eddie Murphy, wouldn’t dish the details on the future between her and her new fiancee but Strahan says their Brady-bunch like family is happy the way it is now.

“There aren’t any plans for kids… We’ve got nine between us already.”

Uhh … congratulations?

We’re sorry … it’s just hard to congratulate a couple on their engagement with all of these divorces floating around. Especially when this is Murphy’s second marriage and Strahan’s third. Oh and we can’t forget about Michael playing detective/crazy stalker man when he thought Nicole was stepping out on him.
