MIMS // April 2008 O'Zone

Take a gander at what we found while doing some spring cleaning in our inbox over the past couple of days. Your boy MIMS is featured on the cover of the latest (April 2008?) issue of O’Zone magazine. We haven’t heard from this dude since back in ‘07 when he was reminding us why he was hot. Then he just disappeared. But now, apparently … he’s back. We did a little research and found out he’s coming out with an album titled Guilt, and it has a street release date of April 7th. Not sure if the date has changed or not, but we find it rather strange how there’s no music video out for this dude yet…

Kanye West

Kanye West is taking his 808’s and Heartbreaks album on tour! He’s reportedly set to begin the tour this summer in Europe, and arrive in the U.S. by the fall. And if you hit up the 2008 “Glow in the Dark” tour, you definitely know you should be prepared for something amazing as far as the lighting and stage set up.

“The last one was done because I didn’t feel like doing a rap show, because of all I was going through in my life. All I felt like was playing with ‘Star Wars’ (toys) and being Luke Skywalker. So I figured you know, ‘I’ll do a rap show if I can just be like Luke Skywalker every night.’ And so I just wrote my own sci-fi and played in it.”

They include filmmaker Spike Jonze, who directed West’s upcoming “See You In My Nightmares” video, and The Jim Henson Company.

Can’t wait for the “See You In My Nightmares” video and we definitely can’t wait for the upcoming tour! GOT will definitely be in the house. We’ll let you know when tour dates are released.

Rachel Roy & Damon Dash

According to recent reports, Damon Dash’s wife, Rachel Roy (a well-known fashion designer) has filed for divorce from the Roc-A-Fella empire’s co-founder. An electronic record of the case obtained by the New York Daily News states the reason as “non-monetary relief” The papers were filed in Manhattan Supreme Court earlier this month.

Dash and Roy, who put her own name on a women’s fashion line, got hitched in Mexico in January 2005. They met when Roy was working at Rocawear and have two daughters. The breakup is the latest legal mess for the has-been hip-hop titan, whose empire – which he once pegged at “about $50 million” in a New York magazine profile – has crumbled under massive debt, bad business deals and one suit after another. Dash, who in 2005 sold his stake in Rocawear to Jay-Z for $20 million, owes $2 million in state taxes, and a bank has started foreclosure proceedings on his two Tribeca condos.

Method ManYour boy Method Man got his 2008 Lincoln Navigator seized by the repo man because he didn’t give a f*ck. And as a matter of fact, he was too busy smoking weed that he didn’t care to give a f*ck. No really, that’s what he told the NY Daily News!

After it was reported that his truck was reposessed, he said that he remembers receiving the tax notices, dating back all the way to 2002, warning him to pay his personal income taxes worth over $52,000, but he blew them off because he was on the road doing what he loves to be: smoking weed. He said the money part wasn’t the problem. He just never found the time to actually pay them. Wow…

Citing the Wu Tang member for being $52,503 in arrears on his personal income taxes, the state Department of Taxation showed up at the Staten Island native’s home at 6 a.m. March 19 with “four NYPD cops and the repo team,” Meth told us. “I knew why they were there. It wasn’t like ‘Oh my God! Noo!! Don’t take it!’ like it is on that TV show [“Operation Repo”]. I was half-dressed, and it was so early that I just said, ‘Okay, you’re taking the truck. … Aight.’”

The back story, according to the rapper, is simple.
