Lil' Wayne & M.I.A. // 2009 Grammy Awards Show

Three days past her due date, Sri Lankan singer M.I.A. finally gave birth to a healthy baby boy last Wednesday, February 11, 2009. The reports were confirmed after the 31-year-old posted a message to her official MySpace page:

MY BABY WAS BORN WEDNESDAY, HE IS HEALTHY, FINE, BEAUTIFUL AND THE MOST AMZING THING EVER ON THIS PLANET, OF COURSE IM HIS MUM!!!

ME AND BABY ARE PUTTING OUR TOUR DATES FOR 2010 TOGETHER AND MAKING MIX TAPES AND FIGURING OUT A WAY TO BREAK OUT OF THE HOSPITAL!

HOPEFULLY THE WORLD IS BEEN TICKING ALONG AND I AINT MISSED MUCH!

Rapper Nas is excited at the news of his wife Kelis being pregnant with his first son. This is what he posted to his blog over at Global Grind:

Yoooo! I’m back! I aint ever done this sh** before, but I got ya’ll, this will change in 2009. 2009 is the year of change. We have a black President, and what he has accomplished gives me hope for the future of our f****d up country.

Personally, life is good. I’m sure that y’all heard K is expecting. The internet seems to be more excited than I am. It’s crazy! I got too much to think about, and I didn’t wanna leave all my fans out the loop. But I wanted to let ya’ll know from me personally that I’m having my first SON!!!!!

I been celebrating life ya’ll. Also I want you all to know that the Nas and Damian Marley album is coming in the next few months. It’s something we have been secretly working on. Tour this summer too!

T-Pain and a few cast members from Saturday Night Live created a music video parody that aired on the popular sketch comedy series a couple of weeks ago. This song is funny as hell and what makes it even more funny is the fact a song like this would probably take over the radio for a littl while, don’t you agree? Props to The Rundown for the video!

Faizon Love hit With Assault Charges; Faces Up to 4 Years in Prison!

Faizon Love Actor Faizon Love (famous for his roles in “Bebe’s Kids” and “The Parent Hood”) was recently hit with an assault charge!

Actor-comedian Faizon Love was charged with felony assault Monday for allegedly punching a man outside a West Hollywood hotel, reports the Associated Press. Prosecutors say the 40-year-old was involved in a heated argument outside the Standard Hotel on Jan. 7 that turned violent. He is accused of punching a man twice. The entertainer was booked at the sheriff’s station in West Hollywood and faces up to four years in state prison, according to the district attorney’s office.

Damn, four years in jail for punching a dude twice? That’s ridiculous! But Faizon Love is a big dude. Two punches from his big ass probably felt like getting cracked over the head with a couple of bar stools or something.

John Legend Calls Chris Brown/Rihanna Situation an “Awful Story”

John Legend and Rihanna

John Legend added himself to the list of celebrities who have had something to say about Chrianna-gate ‘09. This is what the singer told People.com:

“I know both of them. I was surprised when I heard because it doesn’t strike me as something Chris would do,” Legend told PEOPLE Thursday at Las Vegas’s LAX during the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue release party. “You never know what’s inside people or what can trigger that,” he added.

Although Legend has never recorded with either Brown or Rihanna, he knows them both from award shows and just being in the music industry together.

“It’s an awful story,” he said. “I feel terrible for both of them but if Chris did what they said he did, that’s unacceptable. He has to accept the consequences of it.”
