Jermaine Dupri’s artist, Q Da Kid, has a brand new video titled “Letter to Shakir” out now. The song is a tribute to the late Shakir Stewart, the former Vice President of Def Jam who suddenlly killed himself back in November 2008. Be on the look-out for a lot of big things from Q as his album comes out (hopefully) some time this year!

As we reported last month, R&B singer Kelis is definitely pregnant, according to her husband Nas. They’ll know the sex of the baby as soon as next week, the rapper told MTV Sunday on the red carpet at the 2009 Grammys.

“Yeah, man, I find out what it’s gonna be next week, so I’m happy,” said the rapper, who has a 15-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. “I got another one coming in ‘09, yeah! That’s what’s up!”

“Right now, I’ll tell you first, I’m working on an album with Damian Marley, and we tryin’ to build some schools in Africa with this one, and trying to build empowerment,” he said. “We’re tryin’ to show love and stuff with this album. So, the record’s … all about really the ‘hood and Africa also as well. That’s coming out real soon.”

No release date yet, but the rhyme legend is looking tentatively at this spring.

“Too early to tell the title or anything like that,” he said. “Shout out to my man Jr. Gong, we getting it in right now.”

Nas was guest at L.A. Reid’s post-Grammy party. We’ll give you one guess which label the album is coming out on.

What a crazy weekend! Here it is Tuesday, and we’re still talking about it. First we hear about the whole Chris Brown/Rihanna thing, then we hear about a dude in a white Bentley on a “low speed car chase” in Los Angeles. Then we hear that the dude in the white Bentley was actually Chris Brown. Then they say, no it’s not Chris Brown. It’s DJ Khaled! Then they take that back, saying that it’s a regular dude, then they correct themselves again saying that it’s definitely DJ Khaled. They finally settled on DJ Khaled and then when the dude shot himself, some sites reported that DJ Khaled had comitted suicide.

The only true part about the whole story that a guy in a white Bentley, who was later identified as a former luxury car dealer (which explains the Bentley) named Mustafa “Moe” Mustafa, led Los Angeles police on a low speed car chase for about three hours in the area. After cops surrounded his car, he shot himself. They say all of this was the result of him losing his business due to the economy. Sad Story.

Our boy Common has a new movie coming out! AOL Black Voices posted the first pictures of the rapper from his new movie, a remake of “The Terminator.”

Common plays Barnes, a resistance soldier and one of John Connor’s closest friends.

In the highly anticipated new installment of ‘The Terminator,’ set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet’s operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

Once again, “sources” are dropping off tips quicker than anyone can keep up. But for some reason, this story seems to make the most sense. We have to make it clear that we’re not taking sides and you shouldn’t either. At least wait until all of the facts come out and official statements are made by the respective camps. For now, anything that is published (here, or anywhere else) that is not from Rihanna, Chris Brown, or any named person close to them should be taken with a grain of salt. All of these unnamed sources do not, and should not count.

Anyway, sources claiming to be close to Chris Brown and Rihanna told Bossip that Rihanna started the physical portion of the fight and it was all over a phone call Chris received from another young lady. The source also added that Chris’ faithfulness to Rihanna had been questionable the past few months.

They were in the car leaving the Clive Davis party. While Chris was driving, he got a phone call from a young lady. Our source tells us that Rihanna knew that Chris had been messing around with this particular girl and she has, as of late, been the reason for many of their heated arguments. Rihanna got a glimpse of the phone, saw the name and number and immediately recognized who it was. She went ballistic and began to “beat the sh*t” out of Chris (while driving). She was so uncontrollable, that Chris began to fight back in self defense, which ensued the fight. Rihanna’s rage stemmed from Chris’ questionable fidelity in the last few months.

Usher’s wife, Tameka Raymond, underwent what reps are calling “routine surgery” in Brazil over the weekend and Usher had to leave the country to rush to be by her side Sunday night right before the Grammys due to an emergency concerning the operation. Rumors began to swirl across the internet saying that the R&B singer’s wife had died, but fortunately, those rumors were immediately denounced by Usher’s people. As far as the rumors of her undergoing some kind of “cosmetic surgery,” No one has spoken up about that yet.

“Her husband Usher is with her at the hospital,” the rep added. “No further details will be released, and the family requests privacy at this difficult time.” On Saturday night, Usher (full name: Usher Raymond) canceled his performance at the Recording Academy and Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy Gala. Davis told partygoers the singer had to bow out due to a “serious injury in the family.”

On Sunday, Davis, CEO of Sony Music Worldwide, told PEOPLE. “I talked to his mom [Jonetta Patton]. My thoughts are with them, whatever they’re facing.” The couple, married since August 2007, have two children.
