Etta James, the lady Beyonce portrayed in Cadillac Records, apparently doesn’t like the Single Ladies singer. At a recent concert in Seattle, she had a few choice words to say about Sasha singing “At Last” at one of President Obama’s Inauguration ball.
This is not a joke: 71-year-old Etta James actually threatened to beat the crap out of Beyonce Knowles — and it’s caught all on tape! The war is all over Etta’s song, “At Last ” — Beyonce sang the tune at Obama’s 1st Inauguration Ball on Jan. 20th … but last week at a concert in Seattle, James was still pissed.
While on stage, Etta told the crowd, “Your President, the one with the big ears … he had that woman singing my song. She gone get her ass whipped.” She continued, “The great Beyonce … I can’t stand Beyonce.” Ironically Etta didn’t kick up this sorta fuss when Beyoncé portrayed her in “Cadillac Records.” Reps for Beyonce had no comment.

Does Etta James know what she’s done? Doe she know who she’s messing with? Mama Tina don’t play that sh*t!

New Orleans Saints runningback Reggie Bush, also most known for being Kim Kardashian’s main squeeze, landed himself a lucrative endorsement deal with energy soda pioneer Red Bull. He’s the first football player to be supported by the energy soda giant. The announcement came about last week with a full jet ski team who performed, while Bush himself flew over Raymond James Stadium in a sea plane.
“Like a lot of professional athletes, I’ve been drinking Red Bull for years,” Bush said in a statement. “It keeps me focused during training and is my favorite when I’m out with friends. Red Bull is fun, young, and energetic, and is also extremely passionate about sports – just like me. So joining the Red Bull team was a no-brainer.”
This should make his main squeeze Kim Kardashian VERY happy!

Aunt Viv had us scared for a little minute! We actually believed she had something to do with all that “psychic friends” mumbo jumbo but we’re definitely glad to hear that it’s all some BS.
After an infomercial video and flyers for her alleged campaign with The Psychic Friends Networks hit the web on Monday, actress Vivica A. Fox contacted BV Buzz exclusively to address the matter. In a statement that the star of ‘Two Can Play That Game’ and ‘Soul Food’ sent via e-mail late Monday night, she declared: “Vivica A. Fox is no friend of The Psychic Friends Network.” Fox is alleging that the footage circulating online “is using her unauthorized likeness, footage, voice and photographs as an endorsement of their service.” Additionally, the actress is demanding that The Psychic Friends Network “cease and desist immediately” with use of the video and images. Details about why the video was shot or how the images were obtained by The Psychic Friends Network were not explained.

R&B singers Ne-Yo and Keri Hilson, along with Gospel singing group Mary Mary and musical producing legend Jimmy Jam all attended Grammy Career Day 2009 in Los Angeles, CA. In preparation for this weekend’s Grammy Awards, the event was held at the University of Southern California campus and also featured appearances from Jesse McCartney and and music producing duo Stargate. All of the celebrities made up one big panel who spoke to students at USC.
A cheering audience of music career aspirants greeted panelists for the day’s first event: a Super Panel comprised of current Grammy nominee Ne-Yo, McCartney, Hilson, EMI Music Publishing president/West Coast Creative Big Jon Platt and The Recording Academy chairman/producer Jimmy Jam. Moderated by Recording Academy West regional director Lizzy Moore, the hour-long session touched on various subjects from songwriting and production to publishing. On the subject of songwriting, McCartney advised fledgling songwriters that “when you try to fit a certain genre or mold, you fail. Write what you know. That’s your template.” Cautioning that “your spot in this business is not etched in stone,” Ne-Yo recommended that students finish school and follow the “3 P’s” in their career endeavors: passion, persistence and patience. “It doesn’t matter how much money you make if you can’t count it,” he emphasized. “It’s also difficult to write a song if you can’t read or write. Being prepared and following the 3 P’s will get you where you’re trying to go.”

This guy has to have some sort of record of the person with the most magazine covers in the shortest amount of time. I’m talking about the president. Our president. President Barack Obama is featured on the cover of the March 2009 issue of Vanity Fair Magazine. The issue features an interview with Barack Obama’s White House team.
As America thrilled to the inauguration of its 44th president and a new First Lady, the West Wing was filling with a kaleidoscopic army of policy aces, whiz kids, and veteran advisers, all focused on the long-haul, no-drama work to which Barack has called them. These are the civilian front lines of “We the People,” photographed by Annie Leibovitz for our pages. Plus: Maureen Orth interviews the new team, and talks to White House social secretary Desirée Rogers about making Washington fun again.

Erykah Badu announced on Twitter yesterday that she and longtime boyfriend Jay Electronica decided to name their newborn daughter Marks Merkaba.

According to Crystalinks.com, the word Merkaba refers to a “divine light vehicle allegedly used by ascended masers to connect with and reach those in tune with the higher realms.” The vehicle is described as a kind of three-dimensional Star of David that “transports spirit/body from one dimension to another.” In the Bible, the Merkabah is described as a chariot made of angels with four wings and four faces that represent the four directions and take the form of a man, a lion, an ox and an eagle.

Your boy Chris Brown was spotted out and about in Dublin, Ireland this past Sunday wearing a t-shirt with a big ass blue heart on it. A big ass blue heart with sequins. We’re going to give Mr. Breezy here the benefit of the doubt and say that his boo Rihanna bought this shirt for him and forced him to be photographed in it. It happens to the best of us! Not sure what kind of excuse we can come up with for homeboy’s pink watch though. Continue reading for more!
