Keisha Chante IS in fact playing as Aaliyah. Keisha’s manager only denied the rumors of her set to play as Aaliyah because of the swirling controversy surrounding Chris and Rihanna. But the film has started the process of production in August of 2008 and Keisha even said in an interview “Aaliyah is a one in a million and will never be replaced..and I am glad that her fans are rooting for me in this movie.” Aaliyah’s fans ARE pushing for her to play as Aaliyah, and yes there is some resemblance between her and the late singer. I hope whomever is in charge of Aaliya biopic included recent grammy winner Stephen “Static Major” Garrett RIP passed last year after filming lollipop with lil wayne. he and aaliyah were best of friends and at one point lovers. Static wrote and co produced majority of her albums. Rock the boat was written by Static Major. He and members of 90′s group Playa are featured in several of her videos.Give credit where credit due

Wow! First they made a biopic for Notorious B.I.G. and I heard that they are going to make a movie for Left Eye too! And now Aaliyah! I can’t wait! I’m from Germany and I would love to watch that movie!!! Love you Aaliyah! R.I.P.
