New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress

Unfortunately, the season looks like it’s over for NY Giant Plaxico Burress. It was announced Tuesday that the wide receiver was suspended from the team for the rest of the regular season and the upcoming NFL playoffs.

The decision comes one day after Burress was charged with two counts of illegal weapons possession, stemming from in incident early Saturday morning in which he accidentally shot himself in the right thigh at a Manhattan nightclub.

The Giants’ decision to suspend Burress came down after team physician, Dr. Scott Rodeo, examined him and found that the gunshot wound would sideline the 31-year-old player for 4-to-6 weeks.

His teammate Antonio Pierce may suffer the same fate if investigators find that he helped Plaxico attempt to cover up the shooting.

We’ve also learned that Plaxico Burress may be selling his New Jersey home due to him losing his $35 million contract with the Giants.

Word has it Plaxico Burress is putting his New Jersey estate on the market. Now that his $35 mill NFL contract is out the window thanks to his lock up status–he likely won’t be able to afford it. And he has a family to take care of. People really need to do better.

Here’s the official video premiere of Ludacris‘ hilarious new Artemus Jenkins-directed music video, “Everybody Hates Chris.” This is the third single from his latest album, Theater of the Mind, which is in stores now!

Common - "Universal Mind Control" album cover.

While we’re used to Common in the role of poetic prophet or self righteous rhyme slayer, Universal Mind Control is primarily a rhythmic celebration, paying tribute to Afrika Bambaataa and Jonzun Crew jams.
