For this edition of “Who Owns the Look” we have Kourtney Kardashian and Rihanna both rocking an Egyptian Inspired Mara Hoffman Print Dress. Rihanna was spotted wearing the dress back in Febuary at Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Party, while Kourtney rocked hers at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show last night. So we must ask the question … WHO OWNS THE LOOK?
Who Owns The Look? Rihanna or Kourtney Kardashian?
This is the official movie trailer for Dance Flick, a comedy written by Keenen Ivory Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Craige Wayans and Damien Wayans. The film pokes fun at recent dance themed movies Save The Last Dance, Step Up, Hair Spray, You Got Served, and How She Moves by following the life of a rich, suburban white girl named Tracy Transfat who gets into a series of misadventures when she moves to the inner-city. Comedian Wanda Sykes pulled a Clay Aiken and revealed something about herself that she thought would shock the world … she’s gay! This is what Ms. Sykes had to say about her sexual orientation.
“You know, I don’t really talk about my sexual orientation. I didn’t feel like I had to. I was just living my life, not necessarily in the closet, but I was living my life,” Sykes told a crowd at a gay rights rally in Las Vegas on Saturday.
“Everybody that knows me personally they know I’m gay. But that’s the way people should be able to live their lives,” she said.
Sykes, who is known for her feisty and blunt style, said the passage of California’s Proposition 8 made her feel like she was “attacked.”
“Now, I gotta get in their face,” she said. “I’m proud to be a woman. I’m proud to be a black woman, and I’m proud to be gay.”
Even though this doesn’t come as a surprise to me, I must applaud Wanda for feeling comfortable enough to share this with the world and for standing up for what she believes in. I’m not gonna say any names but, hopefully some other Hollywood stars … Queen Latifah …. will follow Wanda’s lead.
Beyoncé appeared on Saturday Night Live to perform her two latest hit singles, “If I Were A Boy” and “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It),” from her upcoming album I Am… Sasha Fierce. Check out JC’s review here. Not only did Beyoncé perform she did a skit paroding the making of her video, “Single Ladies”, with three male dancers. Justin Timberlake made an appearance in her skit as well as one of the dancers. This was mad funny. Check out the skit above and the performances after the cut.

T.I. is proving that no one on the corner got swagger like him with a launch of his new clothing line titled Akoo. The Akoo is an abbrevation which means “A King Of Oneself” and it was released in stores yesterday just in time for the Holiday 2008. I will be picking up some items for myself when it hits stores. Check out the teaser site which should be up and running once the apparel has reached majority of the distributing stores. Check out the following links below.
Busta Rhymes has come back to bless us with “Conglomerate.” Busta is on his eighth album, B.O.M.B. and his latest project’s release is slated for early next year. The production is vicious and Busta Rhymes rips through the whole track. I’ve always been a huge Busta Rhymes fan. Busta Rhymes gives you all his energy to make every performance better than the last one. Definitely a sick track guys.
Here is some new music from Ciara! A new track and possible single titled “Explode,” which will be on her upcoming album, Fantasy Ride – in stores January 27th 2009. R&B group i15 has yet to release their debut album, I-15, but there are still tracks flowing out from these guys. In case you don’t know who they are you should find out. This new track “Go” is definitely radio friendly and I could see it doing well on the charts. You guys should check it out! Check out the following links below.
Columbia Record’s leading superstar Beyonce (or Sasha Fierce) is days away from releasing, I Am…Sasha Fierce. The album is slated to be a double disk album with plenty of ballads and get busy tracks. Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to sit down and listen to the whole album. I’m still in disbelief that she gave, “Sasha,” a last name. It takes away from the aura of “Sasha,” being a diva. The cliche part is that “Fierce,” is an obvious outreach to her homosexual fanbase. Nonetheless, Beyonce brought just enough to keep her fans at peace with this project. When reviewing this album you must remember Beyonce stated, “I’ve recorded over 100 tracks for this project.” So, clearly this review is going to be critical.
