Lil Wayne Getting Sued by The Rolling Stones

50 Cent’s suing Taco Bell, and now the Rollingstones are suing Lil Wayne.

Abkco Music Inc, a musical publishing company that owns the rights to the band’s song “Play With Fire” sued the rapper in Manhattan federal court Thursday, saying he released an altered version of the song without permission. The company is suing Lil Wayne, his guest artists and his record company, a unit of Universal Music Group, of copyright infringement and unfair competition. Abkco also said that Lil Wayne’s version uses “explicit, sexist and offensive language” and could lead the public to believe the company and the Rolling Stones approved of and authorized the new version.     Good cuz that fool is overrated anywayz. In 10 years everyone will be making fun of that scrawny lil’ man. I can name a few rappers off the top of my head that are 10x better than that fool and aren’t really that well known outside my state. BunB, Trae That Truth, Lil Keke, Tupac, Screw, Pimp C…….
    all these rappers are and were better than Lil wayne will ever be.

    That’s why you get your samples cleared before releasing the album. Especially when you know the album is gonna do major numbers…This is nothing racial, just stupidity on the record labels part for not clearing the sample.

    They’re not racial. They’re smart. IF PEOPLE WOULD JUST STOP SAMPLING MUSIC….nevamind thats another story. If he didnt get it cleared then thats on his ass, shoulda been signing papers instead of letting people sign his ass. (meaning tatts for all u window lickers)

    Haha, lil wayne is getting sued by the Rolling Stones for altering one of their songs “Play with Fire” without permission. Maybe this will teach rappers & other artists to actually create THEIR OWN music instead of altering or sampling from songs or tracks by other artists/bands. Unless you are doing a cover of that song, which you can change the music a little but have to keep the lyrics the same. So it is copywrite infringment. And its not racial, I bet anyone would get sued if they are in this exact same vote.
