The 2008 BET Awards go down tonight live from Hollywood, and in true BET fashion, you know some parties and events have to precede the ceremony. Automobile giant Dodge and beer producer Coors Light sponsored a pool tournament at Hollywood Billiards this past Saturday in Los Angeles, and a slew of celebrities showed up: Angie Stone, Hill Harper, Paul Pierce (Boston Celtics MVP), my baby Lauren London, and Miami Heat player Dwyane Wade, just to name a few. Remember that post about Jermaine Dupri launching a new record label? Well, TAG Records was officially launched last night in L.A. at Kress, and celebrities like J. Holiday, Tichina Arnold, Slim Thug, and more came out to show their support. TAG Records is a joint-venture between Jermaine Dupri, Def Jam, and TAG Body Spray, where JD will take the executive position as president and will be responsible for developing the label’s musical talent, in addition to setting the creative vision of the New York-based company. In this new film Beyoncé plays Beth Charles, the wife of Derek Charles (Idris Elba), whose husband is threatened by an “obsessed” temp in his office. This movie should be good!
