The spiraled “beef” with Ice-T making a statement about Soulja Boy killing Hip Hop has gotten out and Kanye West has something to say about it. On Kanye’s Blog he just wrote a post about how he felt towards what Ice-T has to say. Kanye West stated:
Soulja boy is fresh ass hell and is actually the true meaning of what hip hop is sposed to be. He came from the hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound and a new dance with one song. He had all of America rapping this summer. If that ain’t Hip Hop then what is? A bunch of wannabe keep it real rappers that ain’t even relevant, recycling samples trying to act like it’s 96 again and all they do is hate on new sh*t? Niggas always talk about the golden age but for a 13 year old kid, this is the golden age!!! That song was so dope cause everything he said had a hidden meaning… that’s Nas level sh*t… he just put it over some steel drums which is also some Nas sh*t if you had the 2nd album cassette with the bonus track “Silent Murder” on it. In closing… new niggas get ya money$$$$$$$$$$ Keep this sh*t fresh and original…. ain’t no fuckin’ rules to this sh*t and that’s what real hip hop is to me.

I love Kanye West. He’s on of my favorite rappers. But I couldn’t disagree with him more on this. Soulja Boy is garbage. If it isn’t just his music, it’s his attitude. He’s seventeen years old and thinks he runs everything. What’s worse is that he’s supposedly a role model to kids? Soulja Boy is just barely able to buy his own CD for cryin’ out loud! He’s everything a teenager shouldn’t be.

to D.J., im not saying a 17 year old is not capable of mature music, im giving soulja boy the benefit of the doubt, saying that since he is 17 he probably hasnt fully matured yet, therefore his music is not mature.
also i see wut ice t is saying. but it really isnt soulja boy’s fault. crank that was number 1 for weeks. people r buying his music, its not like he made it and no one is buying it. many rappers put out deep songs, but they dont sell as well. ice t really needs to get mad at the public, cuz they r the one buying and requesting that type of music.

Not about the souljah boy beeing 17 so his music is immature part, cuz I think soulja boy just sucks, cuz a lot of young ppl can spit, like myself :) even since I was like 17 or younger to where I’m 20 now! But I agree that Ice-T is aiming at the wrong ppl. Personally, these whack MCs might try harder to put out ill lyrics if the crap was selling!!
