Steve McNair Retires

(Photo: Getty Images) NFL Star and Balitmore Ravens’ quarterback, Steve McNair, is calling it quits after 13 long seasons. McNair intended to finish the 3 year contract with the Ravens but he proposed that he wasn’t physically fit for the position:

“Coming out and making this decision, it was hard, in your mind, you feel like you can play, that you can still compete. But when your mind and your body are not in accord, it’s not going to work in the National Football League.”

“My mind was there. Mentally, I could go out and play. But physically, I couldn’t do it anymore. Not to the capacity that I need to help my teammates win a football game.”

He received a standing ovation from his fellow teammates and they respectively accepted his decision. Steve McNair won a NFL MVP Award and led the Tennessee Titans to a Super Bowl. Happy Retirement Steve.

Foxy Brown

After serving 8 months behind bars at the Rose M. Singer facility in New York’s Rikers Island, female rapper Foxy Brown will be released from jail tomorrow (April 18th), according to her manager Chaz Williams.

“She did every single minute of her bid in jail, and she did it under the most severe conditions,” Williams said. “They had her on continuous lockdown just because she is a celebrity. They were trying to break her spirit.”

Word on the sidewalk is that she’s in talks with a couple of television networks for a reality show on her life. She’s also planning on putting the finishing touches on her 4th studio album, Brooklyn’s Don Diva, which is set to be reelased on May 10th. This will be Foxy’s first studio album since 2001.

“She’s going to get on top of her career again. She’s ready to hit the ground running and do anything she needs to do to get her career back on point,” says Williams.

Something tells me her crazy ass is gonna end up right back in prison very VERY soon! That damn Inga…

R&B singer Alicia Keys recently sat down with KIIS-FM’s Ryan Seacrest in an attempt to clear the air on her statements that “gangsta rap” was a government “ploy to convince black people to kill each other” and that the government and media were responsible for the drama between slain rappers Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. Alicia says that her statements were “misinterpreted” and elaborated more on them.

“The term ‘gangtsa rap’ was so over-sloganized during that time and in so many ways everyday people as well as the government could have really done so much more to obliterate and eradicate the things that were going on in the community at that time that forced the artists to discuss and talk so strongly what they saw- what they lived with every day.”

The 6-time Grammy winner – who on a previous occasion was treated for hypertension and pericarditis, a viral inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart – was released from the hospital April 8th after undergoing precautionary tests at a Las Vegas medical facility. She was said to be resting at home.

We hope she’s okay!

Atlanta rapper T.I. has been cut loose as the spokesperson for General Motors. This time last year, you could see T.I. in several GM commercials, mostly for Chevrolet. But in the wake of his conviction on federal gun charges, the auto company has decided to drop T.I. from its roster of celebrity representatives. T.I., who recently spoke with the Atlanta Journal Constitution, candidly stated that GM isn’t his only loss, when it comes to his money.

“GM had to back up off of me,” he told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution when asked about the deal. “There are films that I missed out on. Not speaking of, of course, shows. Tours. Tons of business. I’ve probably lost about $10 to $12 million dollars.”

In his first sit-down interview since his arrest late last year, T.I. tells AJC’s Sonia Murray that his patience has grown since being on house arrest for the past several months.

“If I can sit at home all day and wait on people to bring me what I need… wait on getting permission to be able to do this and do that, it’s not as serious as I used to make it sometimes. Sometimes it was like, ‘If I don’t get this right now I’m just going to lose it.’ When you’re going 350 miles per hour, it tends to be that way. But when you are stopped – halted, not slowed down, but halted – you figure, ‘Well I could have just slowed down. I didn’t have to be stopped.’ I thought it was bad just to slow down. Now I see in me being stopped, I could have done this, been this, myself, instead of being forced to do it.”
