Maroon 5 - It WonMAROON 5 // IT WON’T BE SOON BEFORE LONG. LIMITED EDITION

Whilst all the promotion of Maroon 5’s latest single release, ‘Goodnight, Goodnight’, they will be releasing a limited edition version of their platinum-selling album It Won’t Be Soon Before Long (Octone) released last year.

The limited edition M5 LP will include all sorts of new material and bonus (US, UK, iTunes) tracks for your listening pleasure like ‘Wake Up Call’ featuring Mary J. Blige. If you liked the original version of M5’s It Won’t Be Soon Before Long then I definitely recommend you downloading/picking up the limited edition. I said it before and I’ll say it again: Maroon 5 is frickin’ gold platinum in my book! They are possibly just one of my favorite bands out there and I’m sure they well accumulate a conglomerate of brand new fans in the coming year, with their tour, and the release of this album especially.

The new material, no different from the old, covers all the stress and abyss that comes with relationships. The production is melodic and alternative - which I adore - the sound M5 is famous for. I love all of the newly added bonuses but my ultimate favourites would definitely have to be ‘Infatuation’, ‘Losing My Mind’ and ‘Story’.

You know the drill, bitches!

Before I call it a night and take my ass to bed (I have class in the morning and it’s damn near 1 AM lol). I just have one burning question: Did Prince, Rihanna, and Alicia Keys share the same hair stylist for the night?

KANYE WEST PERFORMS STRONGER / HEY MAMA »

Well I have to say it has been a great evening/night for me with this year’s 50 Annual Grammys, especially with memorable performances like Kanye West performing “Stronger” and then giving a sincere tribute to his mother with the song “Hey Mama”. Other great performances at this year’s 50th Annual Grammy awards included Rihanna, Morris Day and The Time, Alicia Keys with Frank Sinatra, and of course Beyonce and Tina Turner. You can view all of these performances after the cut!

I thought this was a pretty dope performance too! Beyonce, another artist I stan for, shared the stage with the legendary Tina Turner last night at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. The performance opened up with the “Deja Vu” beat, and Beyonce lip-synched a nice little intro to some of the women (in music) she looks up to. A nice touch. Then Tina Turner came out and did her thing with “What’s Love (Got to Do With It)” and some song I’ve never heard of (lol - sorry, all I know of Tina Turner is “What’s Love” and “Proud Mary” - plus a few songs from the movie with Angela Bassett & Lauwrence Fishbourne). She thanked the crowd, and out came BEYONCE! They both showed out with an amazing rendition of “Proud Mary.” Another unforgettable performance of the night. I swear, Youtube, Dailymotion, and all of those other video sites, are gonna crash tonight! Check out more photos from this performance after the cut. Be sure to check back periodically throughout the day for more exclusive Grammy coverage! - Photos, videos, reviews … the works!

Nas & Kelis: Are They Serious?

I ran across these photos of Nas and Kelis, and yes, this is what they actually wore to tonight’s 50th Annual Grammy Awards. Are they serious? Nah, they can’t be! I mean like, really … do they really have “Nigger” in plain words plastered across their chest and back on t-shirts? I guess this makes up for him not being able to release his album this month. Your thoughs?

UPDATE: After the cut you can view Nas and wife Kelis talking about his new album “Nigger” live via CNN at the Grammys! LMAO

Anyone, and I mean ANYONE, who reads this blog knows that I stan all day, and everyday, for Kanye West! And when I tell y’all he SHOWED OUT at the Grammys? Aww man, did he show up and show out!! He came out with one of my favorite songs off of Graduation (hell, I like the whole damn album) - Stronger, and gave the crowd a full and energetic performance in true Kanyeezy fashion. And to add more icing to the cake, his set/costume was amazing. You know his famous “Stronger” shades? Glow-in-the-dark! And he had on a glow-in-the-dark vest! To promote his “Glow-in-the-Dark Tour” I’m guessing? Oh, and speaking of that tour, based on this performance (and really any performance I’ve seen this kat do) I will be the first momo f*cka in line for some tickets … real talk! But back to the performance. After he showed out on “Stronger” he ran back stage for a second and left Daft Punk do their thing (I think that was them in those suits), and after they did their thing, he came back for a really slowed down and special rendition of “Hey Mama,” in memory of his mother, the late Dr. Donda West, who passed away in November of 2007. He, of course, received a standing ovation after this. I kind of took up the whole post talking about his performance, so come with me after the cut to hear what I had to say about his acceptance speech… More photos from the performance are under there too!

Oh-wee-oh-wee-oh! Morris Day and the Time took us all back to a time, before my time lol. But in my household, not knowing who Morris Day and the Time are is a crime. Okay that rhymed (very corny I might add) but it wasn’t intentional, I promise! Lol, anyhow, the band from the 80s shared the stage with Rihanna and performed a medley including their hit, “Jungle Love,” and Rihanna’s hit, “Umbrella.” The performance wrapped with “Please Don’t Stop the Music.” One of the best performances of the night! A great way to kick-off the show.

Now that we got the majority of the Red Carpet photos out of the way, let’s get into photos from the show! Alicia Keys opened up the show with a special performance with a hologram of the late Frank Sinatra. After the performance, Prince presented her with her Grammy for “Best Female R&B Performance.” I didn’t really get to catch this performance, or Carrie Underwood’s, so I can’t write up a review. Check out more photos after the cut.
