NAS ISN’T GETTING DROPPED! » Yeeeah … you know that rumor about Nas getting dropped by his Def Jam? Not true, according to Rolling Stone, a label-rep says to Rock Daily, “that is absolutely ridiculous and untrue.†These falsified claims first starting surfacing on the National Enquireresque-site MediaTakeOver, which quoted an “inside source,” stating, “If Nas doesn’t change his mind, he’ll be dropped. And he doesn’t have to much time to come to that realization.†The Emcee has been frequently in the media now leading up to the release of his forthcoming album Nigger. Now, you would think people would stop using gossip sites as resources, especially MeidaTakeOver of all mockery of gossip sites, but clearly they are still doing this. CONTINUE READING

I might as well start doing this like I have Boondocks, for everyone who may have missed any of the episodes. Tyson is starting to annoy me consistently alluding his sexuality on the show, we get it guy, you’re “straight”. On Frankie: he is a fracking jerk and I want him booted! On Ronnie: he did amazing! On Perry: he rocked it and soo desire to win this week! On Kathy: I love her, and I also want her to win! On Holly: I don’t want her eliminated just yet. On Ben: he needs to practice his walk, seriously.
Ooh, I like this! It’s very creative and I guess “honey” would be music of course! The video is obviously about local record stores dying and how you should support them! I love Blue Note, I wonder if that’s where she taped this? And is that Sa-Ra? I like how she parodies artist’s album covers in it! LOL! And omg - her Andre impression - I was rolling! I thought the monkey at the end was funnie, I forget where I seen that from, I think a commercial..
UPDATE: Ugh, can anyone guess the covers, the ones I personally picked up right away were Nas and The Beatles. I know, I’m too young -_-
WHO IS STEPH JONES? » Well, in about week or so we will know the answer to that question! I recently confirmed an interview with R&B newcomer Steph Jones, and if you have any burning questions for the “Mo City Alien,” be sure to hit up this post with your comments. Per the usual, only serious questions will see the light of day. Unlike most of our interviews, which are done over the phone, this particular one will be conducted over e-mail, and I plan on e-mailing Steph on either Monday or Tuesday, so I’ll be accepting questions up until then. If you don’t know who Steph Jones is, be sure to check out Mike’s intro HERE.
Sorry I couldn’t get this up sooner. My internet connection has been acting up all weekend…
Not even two weeks ago, if you were to take a poll in South Carolina asking voters in the Democratic party who they would be voting for in the January 26th 2008 primary, HIllary Clinton probably would’ve had slightly more votes than Barack Obama. Over the past two weeks, that has dramatically changed! I don’t know if it was the comments regarding Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., or Bob Johnson showing us that he’s a living, breathing Uncle Ruckus, but something changed the black vote in South Carolina! Over 70% of the African American vote went to Barack Obama! And when it came to the entire state of SC, Senator Obama had well over 50% of the vote! I actually took part in this primary and casted my vote, so the results actually mean something to me. If you haven’t done so already, I’m not asking, I’M TELLING YOU to register to vote! You can’t participate in the primaries, but you’ll definitely be able to participate in the general election this November.
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Senator Barack Obama won a commanding victory over Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in the South Carolina Democratic primary on Saturday, drawing a wide majority of black support and one-quarter of white voters in a contest that sets the stage for a multistate fight for the party’s presidential nomination. In a bitter campaign here infused with discussions of race, Mr. Obama’s convincing victory puts him on equal footing with Mrs. Clinton — with two wins each in early-voting states — and gives him fresh momentum as the contest plunges into a nationwide battle over the next 10 days.
Former Senator John Edwards, a native of South Carolina who was trying to revive his candidacy, came in third place but vowed to keep his campaign alive, despite failing to win a single state so far. With 99 percent of the electoral precincts reporting, Mr. Obama had 55 percent of the vote, Mrs. Clinton had 27 percent, and Mr. Edwards had 18 percent. [ CLICK HERE FOR MORE! ]

To combat her obvious drug addiction, Amy Winehouse has finally decided to make the decision to check herself into a drug rehabilitation center. The announcement came just days after the 24-year-old singer was pictured in British tabloid The Sun inhaling fumes from a small pipe. Police have launched an inquiry into the matter.
“Amy decided to enter the facility today [Thursday, January 24th 2008] after talks with her record label, management, family and doctors,” Universal Music Group said in a statement. “She has come to understand that she requires specialist treatment to continue her ongoing recovery from drug addiction,” the statement said.
Winehouse plans on going through the whole rehab process, and has every intention of performing at the 50th annual Grammys this February. As much as I joke and poke fun of Amy, drug problems are pretty serious, and we’ve all seen what they lead to … death. No one deserves to die like that. So on behalf of T2W, I’d like to offer my support to Amy in hopes that she realizes that her life and career are very important, and doing drugs isn’t the answer to solve whatever she’s going through right now. Get well soon, Amy!
