I was a fan of Marion Jones for as long as I could remember. I’m a bit disappointed about what happened but i still admire Marion Jones, especially for admitting her mistakes. Many athletes take drugs but they wont admit it for obvious reasons. She was able to stand in front of the public and tell the truth. She’s going through so much because of those few mistakes, which could’ve been because of pressure, stress or such. But, nonetheless it was a MISTAKE. And I’m pretty sure we ALL make mistakes. But the important part is learning from it and taking responsibility, which Jones has clearly done. Again, I admire her for that.
Not only that, but also that fact that she wants others to learn from her mistakes as she said after she received 6 months in jail “I truly hope that people will learn from my mistakes.” We could only imagine the pain that shes going through. She has given up track and field which was a HUGE part of her life. And giving up those medals, money, glory and pride is not easy at all, nor telling your children and telling the public that you let down your country. But, I hope that she knows that there are people that forgives her and supports her. I am one of those people. I still respect her.

It takes courage to come out in the open and admit one’s mistakes. Marion Jones did that. I hope she stages a good comeback of some kind, not as an athlete, but maybe helping future athletes in some way or the other. She has enough knowledge and will be pleased to let future athletes make use of whatever lessons she picked up as an athlete.

Yeah thats true, theres lots of athletes still lying til this day an will probally never tell the truth. I feel bad for her family having to go through what they are going through, especially her sons. I am still a fan of hers no matter what. I hope an pray she will continue to prosper and get her self back together after jail. Like Creative said it could be alot worse than only 6 months.

at least she was women enough to tell the truth and she only rec’d 6 mnths when it could have been worst
