Eff You Too, (Uncle) Bob Johnson!

It baffles me how these prominent black leaders (Bob Johnson, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, the list goes on) are supporting a white woman over a black man. Not that Hillary isn’t a great candidate or anything, but c’mon! This is our chance to get someone of color into the White House, and he actually has a chance AND the credentials! Unlike when Al or Jesse ran. Maybe that’s why they’re a little bitter. But hey, at least we have Oprah. She has her head on straight. These other fools? Eff them!

Not to mention Uncle Tom Bob Johnson created “BET,” which is known for exploiting the African American race and showing us in a negative light. And on top of that, he sold it to VIACOM! Negro please… I wonder how big that check that he got from the Clintons was. Black people better wake up, and fast!

Who runs this nation should not be defined by their race. As a black woman, I am not particularly fond of Obama myself. I’m not saying he’s not a good candidate but he lacks experience. Sure, it’s awesome that he is making American history by running for president, but this is way more than black and white. We’re talking about the person who will be the face of this nation for the next four years. People are just voting for Obama simply because he is black and not looking at what the man stands for. Now that, is wrong and should not be encouraged within the black community.

Obama wants to implement change in this nation and that is good but I am not too sure that he will be able to do what he talks about. I also think that America still has a lot of growing to do as far as the racism issue goes. I’d hate to see him get hurt, but the sad fact of the matter is that racism is still going on strong in this nation today.

Either way, the person who should win this election is the one who is the most qualified for the position and in my opinion, I’m not seeing it quite yet from Obama at the moment but he still has time to sway my point of view of him.

I am excited about this election, and I will be delighted to see who wins. All I know is that I am happy to see Bush OUT of office. He’s done enough damage.

um, i hate to hate…but…
i think mr. johnson’s attack of senator obama’s campaign was unwarranted and stupid, because nothing ever came out of obama’s mouth saying that hillary or bill were racist, his campaign never even responded to what hillary said. people are just taking things and running away with it, trying to spin the campaign and make it dirty. might i point out that when hillary lost to barack in Iowa, she was an extremely sore loser, saying things like “Obama can give hope but no future” and “American’s need to wake up and select an ELECTABLE candidate”….if anything, that was racist…but that’s beyond my point.

The main thing is that we can’t vote just based on color. This is MUCH deeper than race. We need someone who is going to give our country the change that it needs to grow and progress, someone with a plan for healthcare and social security, and maybe most importantly, someone who can put an end to the war. Rev. Sharpton and Rev. Jackson have NOT formally endorsed any candidate, but even if they do endorse Sen. Clinton, they aren’t turning against they’re own race. I think that we need to get beyond the whole color thing. I am a young African American female, and I will be voting for Sen. Obama because he represents REAL change, not JUST because he is black. But that is just my opinion, and other people have a right to theirs…

I agree that the issues should be the deciding factor, instead of the color of their skin, in who we vote for. But Uncle Bob decided to bring up Obama’s past (he smoked weed, so what), which has NOTHING to do with him being President. Bush used to be a freaking alcoholic (and still probably is) and he got elected … TWICE.

I also agree that the best person should be the face of this country for the next four years, but look who’s been the face of this country for the past 8 years? Obama can’t do any worse than Bush, in my opinion. At this point, it shouldn’t be based off of “experience.” How else is he going to get experience unless we give him a chance?

..i agree with you dustin.

But, Sen. Obama wrote in his own book, in his own words that when he was a teenager, he smoked weed. Bush did it too…WHILE he was in the National Guard…so that’s not a valid attack. I’m pretty sure that Sen. Clinton’s probably thrown a few back in her day as well….ALONG WITH MOST OF AMERICA!!! That’s what makes the candidates easier to relate to, because they are all real people, who’ve done real things.

I can’t believe this dude. He had the biggest oppurtunity to lift up the black community and sold it to a white tv corporation that now broadcast nothing but videos and things 2 make black people look like ass*s pretty much. Now he is goin 2 support this fake ass white lady who said Dr. MLK would not have done anything for civil rights had it not been for the Presidents in ofice at the time. On top of that he is supporting the husband who said that if Obama was elected he would be living a fairy tale life.. i.e. a real black man could never be elected. How dare this negro play into sumthin like that!? It’s str8^ sad

I wouldn’t mind giving Obama the chance to get experience, but our country is in NO position to be gambling with someone who doesn’t have experience. We screwed up when we allowed George W. Bush to be in office for nearly a decade and it would be detrimental to this country if we gave someone else the chance to screw up even more. Our economy is fading. We’re facing all sorts of issues with global warming and inflation and the lack of social security for future generations. That is just too important for any old body to come up and “take a shot” at just to get the experience. I want someone who has a plan, knows the steps they’re going to take to deal with these issues, and GET it done. People don’t convince me by saying what they want to do. That just goes with being an American, 9 times out of 10 we say what we want to do and end up talking and talking about it for years to come and never really do it. Obama has yet to show me that true drive and ambition to do what he says. That’s what I need and thats what I am waiting for from him.

Whoever wins the election the troops aren’t just going to instantly walk right out of Iraq. We’ve killed 100,000 of their civilians and only about 4,000 of our soldiers have been killed. I don’t think that quite clicks with people seeing as it’s not reported in the media frequently. It took 50,000 soldiers to die in the Vietnam war for us to get our asses out from over there. I don’t think we’ll be seeing our troops anytime soon unless the public shows a great amount of disapproval with it. The war in Iraq is already quickly approaching one of the longest wars in American history.
