Monica Gives Birth to Second Child (Updated)

R&B singer Monica is the proud mother of a second baby boy. The yet-to-be-named infant was born Tuesday afternoon, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution But not all hope is lost … he has a middle name! And according to Monica’s cousin and manager Melinda Dancil, his middle name is Montez, and weighed in at 5 lbs., 6 oz. and was 19Â½ inches long. Dancil tells the paper that mother and baby are fine.

Monica gave birth to her first child, Rodney Ramone Hill III, aka “Lil Rock”, in May 2005. In October 2007 Monica renewed her contract with J Records. For now, she is writing and putting songs together for her fifth studio album, which will be released sometime this year, with the help of producer/friend Missy Elliott, producer Bryan Michael Cox, and songwriter Ne-Yo.

Solange better pop out another one before Lil Rock’s new brother gets of age. Baby Daniel needs a shanking partner too! I’m sure he can take Lil Rock and his baby brother with his hands tied behind his back though. His uncle is JAY-Z!

UPDATE: According to a message sent to photographer/blogger Sandra Rose from Monica herself, the baby’s name is Romelo, which makes his full name Romelo Montez HIll. Congratulations on the new addition Monica!
