I was reading my new favorite site today and came across this “not so blind item.” I knew who it was after the first sentence. Too easy!
In a recent Los Angeles studio session, what former black boyband member, mainly famous in his adult career for taking it all off, was quietly pulled into a back room by his manager/alleged male lover, then beaten “like a hoe” for not singing up to standard?
Trusted WhistleBlower: “You could hear [ANGRY MANAGER] beating the shit out of him, like the way you’d beat a child. When they came out [NAKED BOYBANDER] had tears in his eyes and was like visibly upset. Everyone just tried to act like they didn’t notice. It was so bizarre.”
Bizarre is the operative word, kids. And TNU’s sources would “Never Lie.”
Blow the whistle, y’all!
“Naked Boybander” = Marques Houston
“Angry Manager” = Chris Stokes
“Sleepwalkin’” is an extra bonus track that can be found on the Japanese (y’all get everything!) version of Mary J. Blige’s new album Growing Pains (Geffen) in stores now! Wow, Mary J never ceases to amaze me, really! I find this song single material, it’s really relative and rockable to me, I love it! Cheers MJB but if you don’t release this I’mma scream and it’s produced by Tricky! LOL. Shouts out to Chris for the new music <33.
First and foremost I want to say happy 2k8 and that I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and whatnot. Sorry for the lateness in posts and music, I’ve been so busy with exams and finals, coming into adult life aka “the real world” and stress, you know, the usual.
The Summer of 2007 was definitely a time for Rihanna to shine, with the smash hit of “Umbrella” featuring executive producer/mentor Jay-Z, already having released two previous albums, both 2005’s Music of the Sun and 2006’s A Girl Like Me, one would question if Rihanna is moving too quickly in her natural prime. Although I do admit to actually purchasing and owning two of Rihanna’s album releases, I felt she was rushed into finding a specific identity to stick with, not just for her, but also her label. Needless to say, numbers don’t lie, “Umbrella” was indeed a hit and possibly one of my favourite records from her.
Just a week after Jay-Z’s resignation as president of Def Jam, it’s been reported that Chuck D of Public Enemy just might be taking his place. Chuck D said the following to All Hip Hop:
After 10 years looking on the collapsing of the record industry, and upon hearing the news of Jay-Z stepping down from Def Jam, I would throw my name into the hat of somebody who understands how the hell Universal should establish the name-brands they acquire with stockholders money. So instead of me running for politics, this is an easier run into the world of influential culture.
I’m in Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York on the regular as well as I [thoroughly understand] the international picture. There would be some seismic changes, and I would be a little Huey Long-ish at it. If folks are clueless about this parallel that’s precisely the problem.
If you’re interested in Chuck D’s plan of attack if appointed president, follow the break! CONTINUE READING
According to PEOPLE, comedian/actor Eddie Murphy and movie/tv producer Tracey Edmonds are officially husband and wife. It’s been reported that the two got married on New Year’s Day on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia in front of 25 close friends and family.
In a sunset ceremony on the beach Tuesday, Edmonds walked barefoot down the aisle to Gladys Knight’s “Makings of You.” The bride wore a custom-designed form-fitting dress by stylist and designer Sugia Nazel and Jill Baracci, designer and owner of Baracci boutique. Murphy wore a cream suit and vest with an off-white handkerchief. Among the guests were best man Johnny Gill, maid of honor Nicole Avant, matron of honor Julie Lev, as well as Edmonds’s parents Jacqueline and George McQuarn, her brother Michael, Murphy’s mother Lillian Lynch and his brother Vernon.
Edmonds, 40, gave her bridesmaids gold and diamond earrings from XIV Karats in Beverly Hills, and Murphy, 46, gave his groomsmen D.Atlantis watches. The wedding was designed by event designer Colin Cowie, who created a gazebo on the beach made out of 6,000 shells for the ceremony. After the ceremony, guests celebrated at a private dinner and after-party, where DJ Darrin Ebron from Los Angeles kept the guests dancing. The wedding cake was by Sam Godfrey of Perfect Endings in Napa, CA, and featured four layers in whites and cream with handmade sugar cymbidium and dendrobium orchids.
Eddie Murphy recently divorced his wife, Nicole Murphy, and Tracey Edmonds just got through with a divorce from her husband, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. Eddie and Tracey have been dating since last fall, and have been engaged since July.
