Mr. Man-ish himself, Chris Brown, hits us with his latest Exclusive album, which is scheduled for release next month Tuesday (November 6th), it features guest appearances, as well as stellar productions, from the likes of T-Pain, will.i.am, Swizz Beatz, and Timbaland just to name a few.

The album starts off languid with consistent blandness.

I swayed this opinion towards the starting of a luring “You,” which gave off this Prince vibe to me, so ultimately, this was my favorite.

I wasn’t necessarily floored or in awe about the latter … BUT, I still enjoyed the album nonetheless. I was lackadaisical until “I’ll Call Ya,” (after hearing the snippet previously) I was quite interested in hearing the actual full to this, then I relapsed.

Overall Chris Brown’s Exclusive sounded like unmastered kiddie-Pop and not exactly what I semi-predicted. I was really rooting for Chris, I was. But I’m more so looking forward to Face Off at this moment. :SARCASM:

Standout tracks are “You,” “Damage,” “I Wanna Be” and “Down”.

MY RATING: 5

well, i think the first album was better, but i’m not just going to say this one was horrible, because it wasn’t, most defiantly wasn’t. But, i’m not surprised with how some people view his album…people have been doubting him from the beginning and still are. oh well, i guess you have to be a ‘stan’ to appreciate him like some people, like myself.

And FaceOff should be a good album, unfortunately neither Bowwow or Omarion are not as talented without each other. I think both Exclusive and FaceOff will do VERY WELL, in sells…so i guess time will tell for Chris next week…but, in all reality he’s going to sell…a lot. And other opinions are faded away except his fans’(ours).

  • Jaida

EXCLUSIVE was made for the fans, not the music critics. Chris said it himself so…yeah. I have about 6 favorite songs already on the album and I can’t wait until November 6th. I really hope Chris is looking at all the negativity around him and I hope he feeds off of that and sets out to prove people wrong, because it seems like people are forgetting how hard he worked to get where he is. SMH.

Thats where you guys are wrong though! People haven’t forgotten how hard he has worked to get here, thats just the point….to work so hard and put out an AVERAGE album. I mean I LOVE me some Chris Brown, even have my own site (http://www.chrisbrown-online.net), but even when I listen to this album, it doesn’t blow me away. There doesn’t seem to be any actual VOCAL growth. It’s not something that you can look back on years from now and say, “WOW HE HAS REALLY GROWN UP BETWEEN THOSE ALBUMS”. With other people (Alicia Keys, Beyonce) You can go back to their first albums and listen to the latest and hear how they did something new and tried something different. All Chris seemed to do was add more adult rappers (Lil Wayne, Big Boi, Wll.I.Am) and talk about sex. Besides his voice sounding the same, he didnt do anything “NEW”.

    Thats my opinion

  • diana

i agree with tyrone. i only like about 4 songs. “damage”, “with you”, “i wanna be”, and “ill call ya”. i love chris and will still buy the album but i was expecting more from this album. also he needs to stop using that tpain effect cuz i HATE it and i hate tpain.it seems like chris is gettin kinda big headed on this album like tyrone said, all he talks about is how many girls he can get and sex.

  • Danielle

Yeah the album is not better than the first one but it’s a good album!! “I wanna be ” is the best song on there!! But far as album sales he’s gonna do fine!!! He’s CHRIS BROWN!!! I bet Chris album is better than FACE OFF!!

  • Dionne

    I’m really feeling the foll.
    ” Kiss Kiss”
    “Take You Down”
    “With You”
    “Damage”
    “I Wanna Be”
    “Lottery”
    “Down”.

  • Dionne

    Oh and ” Throwed”.

  • http://www.myspace.com/think2wiceorg Mike

THANK YOU TYRONE! And y’all need to stop with that “Oh-POOR-Chris-stop-discouraging-him-the-album-is-for-his-fans” nonsense! I bet y’all are Chris’ friends doing that, LOL! He can’t pull a Jay=Z, he has not been in the industry that long, so no matter what critics will still judge him. He has to get use to it, I’m sure he doesn’t even care, because he’s still gonna sell…

  • neiceyb

Okay, I go to Tyrone’s site a lot myself. And I understand what he’s saying. And Wall 2 Wall and some other tracks on the album are pretty mediocre, but that’s all that people are focusing on. It’s not like he has bad tracks on the album, because he doesn’t. And I realize his music will still be judged by critics, but it’s one thing to critique and another to bash. And, I’m not saying it’s this site, yall support him I know, because I’ve seen Mike on CBweb and that’s cool, but people are doubting his talents. This may not be his best album and hopefully he can learn from it. That’s all I’m saying. And I’m a big fan, but I know how to think outside the box and not put him on a pedeal stool, and realize I’m not going to always like all of his songs. But, like I said, I know as a fan, other people’s opinions about him fade to us when his record sells come out. Because at the end of the day, his album is probably going to sell SO MUCH that first week. And then the critiques are not important anymore.

  • http://myspace.com/neyo_and_chris_brown whoa nelly!

the first album is crack. and he made “you” a mad long time ago because i already have it on a mix cd. and i heard “down,” that’s my shit too. but if tis’ not as good as you say it is, he gonna be in trouble. sure, he still gonna sell. but people have grown to expect more from him and for him to come with something wack isn’t gonna be good. he was already suffering with the way jive kept pushing his shit back.

  • Ant Keon

The albums Hot to me even though the sounds are different from the 1st this is somthing i can relate to & u gotta make an album ur fans can relate to & the production is “fire” but so far my fav songs are KISS.KISS , WITH YOU , TAKE YOU DOWN THROWED , YOU , IY’LL CALL YA , LOTTERY & DOWN

  • http://gossiponthis.com helena aka chris brown lover

i am listening to the album right now this is my rating on a 1-10 scale it would be a 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • GYP

SO THAT 1 IS GONNA B THE COVER? I LIKED THAT 1 N E WAYS OUT OF ALL 3 COVERS U’VE SHOWN

  • Lovin11

Alright so I do not agree with all those who are upset with Jive for pushing the album back they way it did. It was a smart move on their part because “Wall to Wall” stalled on both the radio and charts. There need to be a second single (Kiss Kiss) in order to confidently but out an album that would sell. That said, Exclusive is an album made for the fans and that is rare in music today. Brown is not innovative on this record but he is smarter and more convincing in the words he projects. Songs like “Kiss” are guaranteed hits and they run rampant through this CD. Prince-like “You” is an instant mindless classic while songs like “Down” allow him to show his grown man while still appealing to a massive radio audience. Like I said it is a smart CD not life changing, but what is so important is that it is not an album that gets tiresome to listen to over and over again. 3/4 Stars.

    Definitely Hit Up:

    “You”
    “Damage”
    “I Wanna Be”
    “Mama”

Personally I think the album is hot. I’d give it a 9. With You and Picture Perfect are the hottest songs on the album. Its definatley a CD that I could listen to over and over again and not get tired of it. How can you say the first album is better? I can’t even listen to the first album anymore because all the songs on there sound so young sounding. And he sounds like he’s ten years old on that album. His point on this CD was to show that he’s 18 now and he’s grown up a little. Which in my opinion he did a good job of doing. And you can not sit there with a straight face and say that his voice sounds the same as on the first album. Listen to the first one. I mean REALLY LISTEN to the first one. You can tell that his voice has matured. And who was the person that said all he talked about was girls or getting girls? If I’m not mistaken, isn’t that what most Male R&B singer (usher, Ne-Yo, Omarion, the list goes on and on) talk about? But what I really don’t understand is some of you said you only like 4 songs on the album but you’re still going to buy it? That makes no sense!! Why support a CD that over half songs on it you don’t like? YOU GUYS ARE HATERS!!! The man is doing his thing so stop hatin’. And regrdless of weather you like the album or not, he still going to sell A LOT of records and he’s gonna beat Cassidy and Jay-z in record sells this week. I say, KEEP DOIN’ YOUR THING CHRIS AND DON’T LET THESE HATERS GET TO YOU!!!
