MARIO • “IF”Here R&B singer Mario can be heard doing a cover of Beyoncé’s “If” over Trey Songz’ “Can’t Help But Wait” beat produced by Stargate. Wow, I must say, Mario had some solid delivery on this song. Kudos to whoever hooked up the arrangements! I think with material like this, it will definitely improve Mario’s versatility with different melodies, I would say he’s right up there with Trey Songz. I truly believe him and Mario are the two most underrated R&B artists out there at the moment. Anyway, overall, this isn’t single material in my opinion – but this would be great for mixtape material or as buzz track until the album releases. Now, when the album releases … I do not know. I here Mario’s label is releasing the Explicit version on October 30th and the clean one November 27th? No, no, NO! Who is the person over that? What I would do … I would release the Clean version FIRST, that way it’ll get folks all psyched up for the Explicit version when it drops. Because if the Clean is any good then everybody will be like, “damn, I want to hear the explicit version of this!” you know? J Records needs to hire me, indeed.

I LOVE IT ! aint heard all these words in Beyonces version only played it once and remember the chorus

“If” is a fantastic song. I think it should’ve been officially released on Beyonce’s original B’Day and as a single. But whaterver… I never thought that the melody and lyrics of “If” would blend in so well with the background music of “I Can’t Help But Wait.” Its a really good mashup.

In XXL HIP HOP SOUL MAGAZine in january they talked about a song claled “If” and it just leaked now…..mario was first.

OMG I love it! Mario has a BEAUTIFUL voice and I agree he is VERY underrated. I really need to know when his album is coming out. J Records needs to get it together. SMH. And they really should released the clean version first.

Mario is cute and you can tell he’s been hitting the gym lately. I saw the MTV special with him and his mother and I can truly say that I am a bigger Mario fan now because he has truly came through some adversity but his image is not all “gangster” and he doesn’t try to be hard. He’s just R&B!

i think the beat worked better for trey. mario & trey are both crazy with it, but why are they so underrated? that’s something to think about
