PHOTOS TAKEN DOWN PER REQUEST OF SPLASH NEWS…

Here are the exclusive photos of T.I. and his crew getting arrested yesterday in Atlanta just hours before he was due to perform at the BET Hip Hop Awards. So far no photos of T.I. himself have surfaced, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated! Just to clear up a rumor that’s spreading across the ‘net … T.I. was NOT arrested at his home, but he was, in fact, arrested in the parking lot of Walgreen’s. An afternoon search warrant was carried out at the southwest Atlanta home of the rapstar and the reported agencies at the scene of the federal search warrant included The ATF, U.S. Marshalls: Fugitive Task Force, Fulton County SWAT, Fulton County PD, Dekalb County PD, and the ATF/Atlanta PD Violent Crime Impact Team. T.I. was not arrested at his home, but later picked up at a Walgreens parking lot. He was taken into custody, along with his long-time girlfriend Tameka “Tiny” Cottle (sitting on kerb) and rappers Mac Boney and Young Dro (black t-shirt), who record for T.I.’s Grand Hustle record label. T.I. is not pictured in these pictures, as he was already put into a police car. But his entourage who were also arrested and his black range rover that he was travelling in, are pictured at the scene. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) arrested T.I. in Atlanta on multiple weapons charges, after they say he had a bodyguard try to buy machine guns and silencers.

Judging by the photos, it looks like they rounded ‘em up one-by-one…

And last, but most certainly not least, flicks from inside the show! I, for one, cannot wait until October 17th when this bad boy airs on BET at 8 PM. I’m mad T.I. didn’t get to perform due to his “unfortunate incarceration,” but you can’t cry over spilled milk, right? Anyhow, judging by these photos, the show looked to be on point! Now, keep in mind, this is not the finalized version I believe. The cast of Tyler Perry’s latest movie, “Why Did I Get Married?”, paid a visit to BET’s 106 & Park last Thursday (Oct. 11) to discuss their roles in the movie. Jill Scott, Janet Jackson, and of course Tyler Perry himself, all showed up. The movie hit theaters nationwide this past Friday, and so far, while I haven’t had the chance to see it myself, I’m hearing nothing but good things about it. According to BLOOMBERG, the movie grossed at over $21 million and is currently the #1 movie in North America (US & Canada)! Definitely a good look…

This is actually kind of old I guess but I’ve been waiting for the FULL to this for a while now. Here Contemporary R&B singer Keri Hilson does a cover to LL Cool J’s “Headsprung”. Look out for Keri Hilson’s debut In A Perfect World coming soon!

• GROUP SPOTLIGHT: FUN*DMENTAL •

I have been following this “Fundmental” group since about late 2006 so it is no surprise that United Kingdom’s very own break-out R&B act FDM (from left to right: Baby-V, Jermaine, & Kyle) has scored a major recording deal with Geffen Records earlier this Summer. The boys (now collectively known as FDM) are in the studio culminating the finishing touches on their new highly anticipated album, Backstage Pass, as we speak! Their sound is very Uptempo and “flashy”; the arrangement of harmonies are so stellar it is enticing! FDM fuses a New Age sound of Contemporary, Pop, and R&B — they are the future! They have already posted some recent material from the album Backstage Pass on their MySpace.

• PRODUCER’S SPOTLIGHT: NATE ‘DANJAHANDZ’ HILLS •

I believe I previously spotlighted this guy and stated that he was going to be BIG! Declared commonly as “Timbaland’s protégé” Nate ‘Danjahandz‘ Hills (or Danja for short) is also the prophet of our time already scoring a major solo producing for Britney Spears, Madonna, and Missy Elliott’s new project just to name few. I really love and respect Timbaland but he really has nothing on this young man, who has mastered his craft studying piano and percussion since his pre-teens. Timbaland does reinvent his work every so often, I will give him that, but it is usually redundant with the same kick drum. I heard Beyoncé will be collaborating with Timbaland on her new project – WRONG BEYONCÉ – get Danja (he is the future) and Timbaland will not be hot anymore when your album releases. T.I. and his crew (including longtime girlfriend Tameka “Tiny” Cottle) were arrested Saturday evening in a Walgreens parking lot just hours before he was to perform AND receive two awards at the BET Hip Hop Awards. Word on the block is he planned to pick up machine guns and silencers bought for him by his bodyguard

T.I. is in trouble with the ATF. Federal agents nabbed the Grammy Award-winning rapper Saturday in a parking lot where he allegedly planned to pick up machine guns and silencers bought for him by his bodyguard. The arrest came just hours before he was to perform at the BET Hip-Hop Awards. The self-proclaimed “King of the South” won two awards despite his absence.

Born Clifford Harris, the 27-year-old lyricist is charged with possession of unregistered machine guns and silencers, as well as possession of firearms by a convicted felon. T.I. was sentenced to three years in prison for a probation violation on a drug conviction in 2004, but served only part of his sentence. His latest arrest came after a federal firearms dealer told the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives a man was inquiring about buying a machine gun without legally registering the weapon, according to a criminal complaint filed yesterday. After trying to buy several machine guns from an undercover ATF agent, the unnamed person began cooperating with the government and said he was buying the machine guns and silencers for Harris, the complaint said.
