UsherALBUM REVIEW: Keyshia Cole – Just Like You
Keyshia Cole returns with her sophomore project, Just Like You, in stores September 25 The album will include the smash “Let It Go” featuring Lil’ Kim and Missy Elliott and the Darkchild-produced single “Shoulda Let You Go”.
It has definitely been a while since that real genuine R&B feel, like with Cole’s 2005 debut The Way It Is, I still bump that album every now and then. It was one of those records that you really got into, relatively. And I think that’s the case with Just Like You, as I always say, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. I think everything happens for a reason, I’m a firm believe of that, like people are just destined to do what they do. Again, the case with Keyshia. Her talent is just incredible, effortlessly. Some how she keeps me running back, eager to hear new material and growth — this album is just that! Smooth, overflowing ballads, adjacent to vocals, drifting throughout the whole LP; some old school Mary J. Blige mixed with Anthony Hamilton — matter of fact he was featured on this lovely song called “Loosing You”. I have no idea why they added Diddy’s but on here, with “Last Night” like it’s all new, but then again that was a pretty hot joint too! I don’t know what it is but I never get tired of that song, even the remix and that’s very rare with Diddy’s remixes <_<

I think Keyshia Cole did an amazing job with this album. She has some great songs on here, and I’m happy for all the success she’s having. Its really great and solid album. I really like “Didn’t I Tell You,” “Fallin’ Out,” Should’ve Let You Go,” and “Heaven Sent.” Support Keyshia on Sept. 25th!!!

i got the whole album from mi cuzin but im buying it ….the whole album iz Blazin!!!! i love “i remember, Loosing it, Fallin out, gotta get my heart back, shoulda let you go and mostly HEAVEN SENT ..This Album is more Feelings sthan ever..Go Keysh!!!!!…

The Keyshia Cole album wasnt what i thought it was going to be. I mean dont get me wrong it has its songs that i love but her last album was something more fast beat and had different feel to it. I was really disappointed with this album. Too many slow songs. Nothing to ryde out to without feeling so damn depressed. Sorry Keyshia. I absolutely love you but i hope next time you come with something alil better. Just my opinion…

i’m with vanessa…from the first to this, it was a disappointment! i put it on and was ready to turn it off after the first 5-6 tracks. for a 15 track album, 5 quality songs does not make it a classic or even memorable! i’m a fan of keyshia, but keepin it real…this lacks

This album is a banger!! I can listen to the album from start to finish and love every minute of it. I cannot remember the last time I bought an album where I could do that. Last night I had it on repeat all night. Keyshia sings with a heartfelt connection to her music and that is rare. Some just go through the motions, but she feels it. As I said I love the whole album, but if I had to pick one song that just sweeps me off my feet; it has to be Heaven Sent. Now a true fan knows this song already by heart and knows what it is about. But for those who have not felt it yet, she speaks about you wanting to be the person that is just the one for that other special person. She talks about you just wanting to be that one and only blessing for someone that you love more than anything. The first time I heard it, I was damn near in tears. Everyone should RUN OUT and BUY THIS ALBUM. DON’T BURN IT DON’T DOWNLOAD IT..BUY IT. You will love it!!! Keyshia you did the damn thang this time girl!! Much love and Support to you!!!
