THIS WEEK’S TOPICS: MochaCity’s Rundown moves to WWW.THERUNDOWN.TV, Beyonce wants to be latina?, Britney Spears MTV Awards performance, Shaq divores his wife and someone snitches on Michael Vick!

Think2wice, I present to you the 20 losers who will compete for New York’s love in a television show entitled “I Love New York 2.” The show is slated to premiere October 8th on VH1. No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you … there’s a little person in that photo above. I don’t even know why people even take this chick seriously. You know every single one of those guys doesn’t sincerely want NY. Everybody just wants their 15 minutes of fame and being on a reality show seems to be the best route. But ((sigh)) I hate to say that I will have my ass parked in front of the tube on the 8th when this coon-fest airs, and you know you will too. Check out more photos over at the VH1 BLOG.

BEYONCE & TINA IN A NEW ADVERTISEMENT FOR “AMERICAN EXPRESS”

This photo, supplied by American Express, shows Beyonce in the art for the latest in a series of celebrity American Express ““Are you a Cardmember?”” print ads. Shot by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz in Charlotte, NC, on July 29, 2007, the ad will appear in magazines in mid-September. Beyonce’s mother Tina Knowles also appears in the ad. I swear to Bob I had to do a double-take to make sure that was Ms. Tina. She looks like a white lady in that particular shot LOL.

Highlights from the 2007 VMAs didn’t include any performers, any of the winning nominations, and anything pertaining to the show in general. The best parts of the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards was (A) When Kid Rock and Tommy Lee got into a little scuffle during Alicia Keys’ performance and (B) Kanye West bitching backstage about never coming back to the VMAs because he was nominated for 5 categories, and didn’t win one. Blah blah blah … I can understand why he was mad, but dang. Although some of what he said was true, I believe he over-reacted just a tad. IT’S JUST A FUCKING MOON-MAN! ‘Ye sometimes has a way of letting his emotions take over, and although I’m 100% sure he means what he says, he may not necessarily mean for them to come out the way they do. But then again, he’s Kanye. Just peep the video lol.

Film director CHRIS CROCKER says LEAVE BRITNEY ALONE! And to be honest, I completely agree. I think Britney’s in a bit of a rough patch and needs people to support/ help her. Even though she did something wrong, I bet she already regrets it. She wants to stand up again, but all she has received is negative comments about her, that makes her want to give up on herself. Just look at the girl’s performance recently at the VMAs, she has totally lost all of her confidence (she has left) within herself. She pretends to be sexy, because that’s only thing she thinks that could help her to gain back her audience’s attention. I’m not going to say, “I feel sorry for her” or “my heart goes out” or “I miss the old Britney” — cliche, cliche. But I will say she has my full support, she’ll bounce back =]

ESSENCE: Were you always going to be a solo artist?

KEYSHIA COLE: Well, actually, I was gonna be in a group with these two girls. We were in Los Angeles and we were working with Damon Elliot, who is Dionne Warwick’s son, and he was like, “Keysh, if you wanna sign with the girl group, you can; but I’ll sign you solo.” And I was like, I’d rather be solo because I do everything in the group anyway. They’re just pretty. We were gonna get, like, a $30,000 advance and split it ten/ten/ten; but I figured, “Why should I give them my $20,000 when I can get it myself?” So I told them, “I’m sorry, but I can’t.” Then I recorded a couple songs with Damon and one of them was (the hit single) “Love.”

ESSENCE: Early in your career you went to Los Angeles and met legendary music producer Suge Knight and Tupac Shakur. What was that like?

COLE: My brother was close with Pac, he got records with Pac and everything. And Pac’s mother is really cool with my brother and me. So to me, Pac was just like a big brother. That time was like one of the biggest moments in history, and I saw everything. I was with them in Malibu and Vegas and I stayed in the “big house” by myself. Just looking at the photos makes you believe the 07 VMAs was on point! Unfortunately that wasn’t the case. I guess you just had to be there to “enjoy” it. Because at home, it looked like crap. I used to actually like the MTV Video Music Awards, but it seems to me that ever since BET started doing their thing every June, MTV has been trying to out-do them somehow, and end up OVER-doing it and the show ends up like crap. Let’s just rewind it back to the way the VMAs used to be. TAKE THE SHIT BACK TO NEW YORK … PLEASE! Anyhow, Y’all know who all these folks are, so there’s really no need for me to go through and name them. Enjoy . . .
