9 Lives, appropriately titled, is the debut album from new artist Kat DeLuna that drops August 7th – MAKE SURE YOU BUY IT! I had the pleasure of listening to the retail version and posting a review for the album. One of the singles lifted from the LP, “Whine Up,” features Dancehall artist Elephant Man; other featured album appearances include Shaka Dee. OK, it starts off with this little brief intro basically saying this is what she wanted to do and she’s finally fulfilling her dream – to share her natural born talent with the world! You know what? I think that’s what this record is mostly based around, testimonials. I mean, come on, the title in itself speaks to you! As far as the whole feel; very eclectic and diverse. This chick breaks it down from Spanish, Dancehall to fawwking Opera! This album is truly remarkable and does not vary whatsoever; looks like the basis really is pretty much LOVE, I mean, everybody needs love! Overall its a pretty decent joint, from an artistic standpoint, the lyrics and vocals are beautiful as if colorful harmonies racing through this chick one-hundred miles an hour! The arrangement? Muy bueno, just some feel good musica yo! I would definitely recommend this as a nice buy, my favorite songs are “Love Me, Leave Me”, “Be Remembered”, “Enjoy Saying Goodbye”, and my all time favorite “Am I Dreaming”. LOL, I love when artists do intros and get “A Little More Personal” (shouts to Lindsay)!

Ugh, I’m kind of drained out and way over the boy band crazed phase, this song proves it I believe. However, it is digestible over the Brian-Michael Cox beat.
Well, I’m sure you guys remember me formally introducing you to R&B sensation J. HOLIDAY and Contemporary R&B singer THE DREAM, now it is time to give you the best of both worlds! This version of “Who Owns the Track?” includes two very talented brothers, who happen to be new artists now, bringing some form of uniqueness and individuality to the game. Especially with the hit R&B single “Bed”! Now after hearing both versions, I think each artist brings their own type of flare that makes the song, so this is very hard – luckily I have you wonderful folks to help me decide! Who Owns the Track?

STAR JONES HAD ((GASP)) GASTRIC BYPASS! » On August 19, 2003, Star Jones did the unthinkable. She underwent gastric bypass surgery in an attempt to lose weight! Hah, it’s not like you guys didn’t already know. But homegirl finally opened up and decided to tell the whole world. I, for one, am surprised. I seriously thought the weight fairy, known to us common folk as “Al Reynolds,” sprinkled his love and magic over Star, which explains her dramatic weight loss over a period of what … 2, 3 months years? Here’s what Star had to say:
“I admit that when asked about my obvious weight loss over the past four years, I was intentionally evasive,” writes Jones, 45, in the September issue of Glamour. Lying was never an option for me, so I called it a ‘medical intervention,’ which was true, but it was really a pathetic attempt to tell the only truth I could handle at the time.”
My pick for the 2008 elections, none other than Senator Barack Obama, is currently featured in a special edition double cover issue of Vibe Magazine entitled “Special Juice Issue.” You’re damn right it’s “Obama Time!”
As you all know Common’s latest album “Finding Forever” was recently released – yesterday to be exact – and a release party was held at One Sunset last night in LA. Apparently the whole shinding was hosted by Target! If you haven’t done so already, make sure you check out Mike’s ALBUM REVIEW of Finding Forever, which will ultimately help your decision on whether or not you want to get the album! Check out the rest of the flicks after the cut! CONTINUE READING
Diddy was spotted once again in St. Tropez, this time around with fashion icon Roberto Cavalli. Looks like someone is trying to rid himself of that alleged B-LIST STATUS we posted about Monday!
Linkin Park just recently premiered their video, “Bleed It Out,” on MTV and … Oh yeah, it kicks ASS!!!! Woo whoo! Even though “Given Up” would’ve been a great single follow-up to “What I’ve Done” I’m not mad too much. I actually dig the video to tell you the truth! So I don’t know what people are talking about, saying that the video trash, I think it goes with the song pretty well. And watch the full to will.i.am’s new video, “I Got It From My Mama,” after the cut!
Here Beyonce can be seen sporting a NJ Nets tee leaving MTV studios yesterday. If you didn’t know, Jigga is part owner of the New Jersey Nets. CONTINUE READING
Caught you, B-itch!!! I was definitely looking forward to a hard video, for a hard single like “Wake Up Call,” and that’s what I got! The video in itself is so cinematic and vivid with the plot, it reminds you of this little movie trailer, I think that was the whole theme of it. I liked the song but now, after seeing the video in full, I’m absolutely in love with the song! Five stars Adam ya’ll, LOL. CONTINUE READING
