News, pictures and videos from July 26, 2007

It’s been a pretty busy week for me online and offline, so it’s only natural that I’d miss out on a few updates. I’m going into my senior year of high school (some of y’all know how that is), so I’ve been running back and forth getting things together so I won’t be stressed out towards the end of this school year. Anyhow, these updates are photos from random events and parties, but nevertheless you should be in the know, so here they are!

COMEDY CENTRAL’S ROAST OF FLAVOR FLAV »

Flavor Flav & a few of his many matured “spermlets”

Comedy Central’s “Roast” is a show where various celebrities (mostly comedians) show up to throw as many insults as they can at one celebrity, and that celebrity just has to sit there and take it. How fun! If you’re the one being roasted, you have to have some pretty thick skin and you have to have a pretty damn good since of humor. The most recent victim is Flavor Flav, and his “Roast” will be shown on television on August 12 at 10 pm. CLICK HERE for more info on the show… CONTINUE READING

Watch the world premiere video for Swizzy’s second single, “Money In The Bank”/ “Top Down,” from the album One Man Band Man. Gawd, I love this man! Swizz Beatz is possibly one of my favorite producers out right now and I can’t wait for his album – look out for cameos by Eve and Busta Rhymes in the video as well! Haha at the end of that video, that knee grow got out of the car and started running next to it! He a fool.

RIHANNA’S SELLING UMBRELLAS!

WHO WANTS A $50 UMBRELLA? » Rihanna will be releasing her own line of umbrellas in an effort to capitalize on her hit single, “Umbrella,” which just became the longest-running U.K. number one single in a decade (dang Rih!). She has teamed up with British clothing company TOTES to put out a collection of five different umbrellas in the U.K. The series will be available in different colors. Prices range from USD $14 – USD $50. Ella, ey ey ey! Don’t hate, Rihanna’s making moves and you know it! CONTINUE READING

ALICIA KEYS PUSHES BACK ALBUM! » I know, I know! I was utterly speechless and heartbroken to hear this earth shattering news myself. It appears that songstress Alicia Keys’ new album, As I Am, will NOT be released on October 23rd, as planed, but on November 6th! As if that wasn’t bad enough news, she recently had the great pleasure of working with a virtuoso musician! John Mayor (on his experience collaborating with the artist):

This is probably about as obvious as telling you the sky is blue, but Alicia is the most authentic artist of our generation … She’s strong where she needs to be … Not just strong as a woman (there are many strong women out there) but strong as an artist (there are few, regardless of gender). She has the vision DOWN and doesn’t waste time getting there

So, now I wait in drought (two weeks!). OK, so maybe – it’s not that bad … But still! O’well, I have to respect her space and growth as an artist. This could be for the better as stated …

at least she’s taking her time to bring us a quality record instead of rushing out a new album in under a year with overused producers (Polow Da Don, Swizz Beatz, etc). I’m glad she’s not following that bandwagon.

by one of my favorite blogs in the whole wide world – TOYA’S WORLD! LOL, so sad (that statement) … but very true to the fact.

Danity Kane Posts a Message on Their MySpace!

For the past few weeks, a few of the members from Danity Kane have been going back and forth on their solo MySpace pages. If you’ve been outside looking in (poor you), check out THIS THIS … and oh yeah, THIS! I don’t feel the need to reiterate here because it’s too much to type and as the days go by I lose whatever interest I had in those females. But finally, they’ve posted something on the group’s MySpace about all of the rumors. At this point, I don’t know who to believe!

“This is the official statement regarding all the rumors and misinformation floating on the web. Danity Kane is still together and all of us — Aubrey O’Day, Shannon Bex, Aundrea Fimbres, Dawn Richard and D Woods — are looking toward to our future together, to taking the industry by storm yet again, and to giving our fans an incredible sophomore album. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank each of you who has continued to support us through the ups and downs of this business. We have every intention of writing, singing, and dancing our way to the top. See you all there!”

Much love,

Danity Kane

Big ups to KC for the link!
