I'm so glad someone finally pointed this out. People call her crazy because they want us to be ignorant to truth. They continue to lead us astray with the poison they put on TV, the poison they feed our youth, and the poison they play on the radio. Lauryn is so talented and if she was on their side she would be a powerful tool. Lauryn decided to no longer be a "tool" and so they called her crazy. Michael Jackson wanted freedom and they called him a child molester that hated being black..They will attempt to crucify anyone that goes against status quo. The media keeps the masses asleep.

I refuse to believe Lauryn is crazy. Yes being mistreated and unhappy can have you in a state of mind where you don,t care any more. To get married and believe abuse is part of love, this happen to some of us women because we so busy trying to keep our family happy and together we know longer worry nor think about ourselves. Love is a beautiful thing. To be in love is even more beautiful, but if you are the only one thats loving and trying once it regester that partner doesn,t love you nor in love with you the hurt is unbearable at time. It take some time to regroup get your mind back on track and began geting your life back on track.Lauryn hill started out young and she had to live and learn as we all do but being she,s in the industry words tend to be turned upside down she,s doing her and lovin her children i listen to her music it,s still great lauryn has matured and speaks of the hurt she had been through and she had to give her mind body and soal to the all mighty to get her life back. lauryn did a song i gotta find piece of mind it,s deep lauryn had to lose herself to become a better women, mother, musician, and so on people don,t understand her or her messages we must free our minds.

Sister Lauryn

I discovered you when you ran the Fugees to victory
Who is this Queen, who is telling my life’s true story?
I was 10 years old, but too old living in a child’s body
Saw too much death in my hood, dead corpses rotting

But Sister Lauryn saved my mentality implanting seeds
Watering with her sweet voice, fertilizing all my needs
Ready or Not, life came too fast and nearly toppled me
I prayed to God to save me from my family and community

Then the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill held me captive
To have a beautiful voice like yours, anything I’d give
All my hurt and pain diminished when I listened to you
I found a way out of mental slavery, you unstuck my glue

Now they talk about you and dog you out like the pound
Never realizing all the Greatness and God in you I found
Your Unplugged album was Allah (swt) speaking through
Your lyrics come from the Higher Source never Voodoo

Out of this captivity I long to be set free in this lifetime
Away from all the sterotypes from all the evil crime
All of the systems designed to treat us like animals
Labeling us and treating positive folks like criminals

See I understand you Sister Lauryn like I know myself
A reflection of you, I am, I accept the hand God’s dealt
We may not seem normal and they might call us insane
But all along they are the ones insane in the membrane

Never understanding that our true purpose is not vanity
Never understanding that love and unity is the only key
Never understanding that the system is designed for us to fail
Never understanding that we are conditioned to go to jail

Sister Lauryn, I commend you for standing your ground
You are the diamond in the ruff that my soul has found
Because of your music my life changed from inside out
You showed me what my true purpose in life is all about

You are a beautiful mother to all of your 5 little precious souls
They depend on you to be strong, your love won’t grow old
Allah (swt) needs you to keep up the fight for all of humanity
Cheers to you Lauryn Girl for exposing the truth about this insanity

Thank you so much for posting this. I'm tired of people calling her crazy because they can't see the truth. That woman has the light of God shining down through her and so many people are just to caught up in this world to notice.

I do not even think Lauryn Hill is crazy and I am not going to be brainwashed by the media to even think that because they want to destroy her career because she is black, multitalented, intelligent, informed and beautiful, they are doing this in order to promote their own or all these low class rappers and these untalented new so called RnB divas. All these artists are a disgrace to the black communities. I mean all these rappers degrade women and the poor communities they come from. As for the ladies they worship vanity and they are embarrassed by their own roots and heritage by adopting the white standards of beauty and they portray sex gimmick images to sell records, what a shame. I do not see all these artists contributing anything positive to the music industry. I am sickened by how the media portrays black people that they care about material things, they are not educated, and they promote violence through gangster rap. All these negative things are evident in most music videos. I believe black people need positive role models especially in the music industry. We need more artists like Bob Marley and Bob Dylan and what they represent. This is not about race I believe the truth needs to be told because I am just a concerned educated person with the current state of the music industry. I think as consumers we need to buy quality music and support creative artists that are truly making a difference.

One thing that bothers me about her comeback is the lack of interest from black male producers or artists in general. I wonder why she is not getting love from them it still puzzles me. Not that I mean she needs Pharrel or Timbaland to produce or Jay Z to rap a verse on her song to sell records. In a true sense of the word she does not need them but I keep questioning their support for white female artists. For example when it was rumoured that Britney Spears is releasing another album Pharrel and Timbaland were so eager to be part of it and help her comeback, and Jay Z even put a rap verse on Amy Winehouse/Aka Fake Lauryn Hill. Something is just wrong somewhere. As for the recent concerts I think most of the things that have been said are over exaggerated. Some people claim that she cannot sing anymore and why would she be judged on one show it is really stupid. One thing that puzzles me, when did people start having an interest in her outfits, as far as I remember people did not even care about how she was dressed back then they were just mesmerized by her natural beauty, charisma, talent and intelligence. I guess some people have amnesia. They can say what they want but they ca never take away her intelligence, talent and knowledge. MAY GOD BLESS HER.

Well said. I guess it is tough being young, black and gifted. Some people might find it hard to accept a beautiful, multitalented, and intelligent black woman. This actually reminds me back then when people called her a racist. Do you guys remember when some stupid caller on her Howard Stern show claimed that Lauryn said she would rather have her kids die than have white people buy her music? For crying out loud even MTV came to her defense by declaring this was a false malicious rumor and she even went to the Howard Stern show to clarify this, and to top it all as proof there was no recorded tape on that rumor, to my surprise I still see on some blogs some ignorant idiots are still talking about it. We all know that this rumor was meant to tarnish her image, because she is not a regular black girl u know Lauryn broke all barriers and stereotypes about black young girls. We all know most people think black women are uneducated, stupid, and ghetto fabulous. But with Lauryn it was different she grew up in a white middle class suburb; she went to predominantly white schools, went to Colombia University, she is intelligent, street smart, well informed be it politically, socially, economically or otherwise, and proved that black women have a lot to offer. With her knowledge and intelligence she intimidates a lot of people this includes black and white men and obviously white women in general. That is why when a black female artist possesses all these things they will call them racist or promoting black supremacy or all kinds of derogatory names when they do not even know them personally or their background.

On the media calling her crazy, I think it’s another way of tarnishing her image. For starters why should people complain about her dress sense because she has always had that simple glamour that ordinary people could identify with, that is why people fell in love with her because she was true to herself and this refers back to the Fugees and the Miseducation era? I guess the media would rather support black female artists like Beyonce, Rihanna, Ciara, because they use their beauty and bodies to make money and they are not intelligent. People need to wake up and see that the media will promote such black female artists to further sabotage black people and reinforce all these negative stereotypes about black people. Let me give u an example how often do we get to see educated black women who are really making a difference in their communities in white magazine, never we only see them on magazines like Essence etc. When a black woman uses her intelligence and wisdom to make money in music business we call them names and never support them because black people are not suppose to progress. People must wake up and smell the roses, I think we need more black female artists like her she is not only representing black women in America but across the globe.
