Yep, you heard right! “Cut It Out” featuring Pimp C and Sean P (YoungBloodZ) is set to be the first single from Nelly’s brand new upcoming fifth studio album, the Prelude, set to be released later Fall of this year. Rumored producers included to be featured on the project are Jazze Pha, JD, and the Neptunes. Man, this track is going hard! By the way, all of this shit is excluuusive!

Ms. Kelly, appropriately titled name of Kelly Rowland’s sophomore album, hits stores on July 3rd so BUY, BUY, BUY, BUY. I have to admit I wasn’t too keen about the project and “change” overall. I really loved her last album, Simply Deep, maybe because I’m into a lot of alternative R&B music. When I first heard she was doing something different and was keeping away from that genre I cringed. In my opinion, back then of course, was that she would stick to her original sound because it was her; although seasons do change and there will be some “creative differences” in the mix, I’m actually glad she went this route with Ms. Kelly, the title in itself is sassy and makes a bold statement. You already know what your getting as soon as the album starts off with the single “Like This,” “Comeback,” “Ghetto,” and “Work” just to name a few; all very aggressive and in your face, she has definitely grown over the duration of her career. The album sort of smooths out a little in the end with “Flashback,” “Every Thought is You,” “The Show,” (damn Kelly Freeaky!) “Love,” “Better Without You,” all of which are my favorites! I completely see Kelly in a whole new light now, I got a taste of her world, both emotionally and respectfully. I think this is kind of like a testimonial for Ms. Kelly really, but a celebration with her fans; almost to say, “you know what, I moved on and I’m living my life.” and that’s absolutely beautiful – I highly recommend you buy this album!

KANYE WEST – “STRONGER” » Yes, Kanye is alive and kickin’ with his latest single, “Stronger,” featuring Draft Punk lifted from his forthcoming LP Graduation. I automatically dug this joint when I first heard the snippet and knew he was sampling from Draft Punk. The video is everything I expected it to be (Kanye, I’m a steal them shades!), fortunately! It’s very futuristic and vibrant; obviously filmed in the great Japan. Hey, I even have to give it up to Cassie for doing her thing in the video too – she looks great! I guess she’s still in the lime light after all.
NOMINEES: MARY J BLIGE » JENNIFER HUDSON » CIARA
She took home the first award AND the last award – I’m talking about my boo Beyonce! She grabbed the final award of the night for BEST FEMALE R&B ARTIST in addition to her previous win for Video of the Year. I didn’t really expect her to take the VIEWER’S CHOICE, but I didn’t expect Birdman & Lil’ Wayne to either! Don’t get me wrong, Weezy is one of my favorite rappers, but I could’ve sworn Chris Brown & Bow Wow had that category on lock! I thought the teeny boppers were gonna take over on this one. Anyhow, this concludes my commentary on tonight’s wins (and losses) but if you check back later on today, you’ll be able to read up on what I thought about the show. It’s 2 AM, and I’m ready to take my ass to bed. SEE YA WHEN THE SUN COMES UP! We have GOT to do this again next year =P CONTINUE READING
NOMINEES: MUSIQ SOULCHILD » ERIC ROBERSON » ELISABETH WITHERS » BRIAN MCKNIGHT
The next set of winners unfortunately didn’t get any camera time. The show ran over and didn’t have enough time to formally announce them, so these awards were announced before a commercial break. The BET JAZZ COOL LIKE THAT award was rightfully given to the late Gerald Levert – rest in peace, and BEST FEMALE ATHLETE was given to (you already know) Serena Williams, whom I must add, HAS BEEN LOOKING GOOD lately! Definite upgrade from that picture with her and The Grinch at the top of this current layout. BEST MALE ATHLETE went to *yawn* Lebron James – I can’t stand that dude, or his team. I’m glad the Spurs took home the win for this year’s NBA Playoffs. I personally believe my homeboy Dwayne Wade deserved the award, or even Tiger Woods … but Lebron James? Ah well, can’t cry over spilled milk. Anyhow, the award for BEST GOSPEL ARTIST went to Kirk Franklin, who seems to win everything now-a-days, but I ain’t mad atcha Kirk! HERO is still in heavy rotation on my iPod. Good album!! THE LAST SET OF AWARDS WILL BE UP IN A BIT … HOLD TIGHT!CONTINUE READING
NOMINEES: DIDDY & KEYSHIA COLE – “LAST NIGHT” » BEYONCE & JAY-Z – UPGRADE U » BEYONCE & JAY-Z – DEJA VU » AKON & SNOOP DOGG – I WANNA LOVE YOU
Not a boring moment yet! BET stepped it up this year and lived up to past shows. I’m proud of my people! Anyhow, the next set of awards that were presented were BEST COLLABORATION, BEST MALE R&B ARTIST, AND BEST NEW ARTIST. A lot of people thought that since Beyonce & Jay-Z were nominated twice they would automatically take the cake. Diddy & Keyshia and Snoop & Akon had no chance. But in the end, Ludacris & Mary J Blige took home the award for Best Collaboration with their powerful message-song “Runaway Love.” I’m happy with that. My boy Ne-Yo took home the award for Best Male R&B artist, and Jennifer Hudson walked away with her second trophy of the night for Best New Artist – Homegirl doesn’t even have an album out yet! But when you think about it, the other folk in that category were no comptetion … let’s be real now. MORE UPDATES TO COME … DON’T MOVE!CONTINUE READING
The next three awards that were presented were BEST ACTOR, BEST ACTRESS, and BEST HIP-HOP ARTIST!! I agree with all of the winners for these three categories: Jennifer Hudson took home Best Actress, Wonky Eye aka Forest Whitaker won Best Actor, and my favorite rapper T.I. grabbed Best Hip-Hop Artist! When T.I. accepted his award, he apologized on behalf of his other half, T.I.P. for his unruly actions at that party Sunday night. Way-to-go T.I.! More updates to follow. I THOUGHT I TOLD YA THAT WE WON’T STOP! CONTINUE READING

So far so good! The show has been on for about an hour now and so many artists have taken the stage and have blown me away with their performances. So far, only 5 awards have been given out, and I’m going to highlight 2 of them! VIDEO OF THE YEAR & BEST GROUP! Video of the year was won by Beyonce’s Irreplaceable, and Best Group was won by Gnarles Barkley, who couldn’t show up to the show. I’m really glad Beyonce won for Irreplaceable, for *ahem* OBVIOUS REASONS, but Irreplaceable was a good video too! Stay clicked on Think2wice for more exclusive coverage.
