ALBUM REVIEW: KELLY ROWLAND – MS. KELLY

Ms. Kelly, appropriately titled name of Kelly Rowland’s sophomore album, hits stores on July 3rd so BUY, BUY, BUY, BUY. I have to admit I wasn’t too keen about the project and “change” overall. I really loved her last album, Simply Deep, maybe because I’m into a lot of alternative R&B music. When I first heard she was doing something different and was keeping away from that genre I cringed. In my opinion, back then of course, was that she would stick to her original sound because it was her; although seasons do change and there will be some “creative differences” in the mix, I’m actually glad she went this route with Ms. Kelly, the title in itself is sassy and makes a bold statement. You already know what your getting as soon as the album starts off with the single “Like This,” “Comeback,” “Ghetto,” and “Work” just to name a few; all very aggressive and in your face, she has definitely grown over the duration of her career. The album sort of smooths out a little in the end with “Flashback,” “Every Thought is You,” “The Show,” (damn Kelly Freeaky!) “Love,” “Better Without You,” all of which are my favorites! I completely see Kelly in a whole new light now, I got a taste of her world, both emotionally and respectfully. I think this is kind of like a testimonial for Ms. Kelly really, but a celebration with her fans; almost to say, “you know what, I moved on and I’m living my life.” and that’s absolutely beautiful – I highly recommend you buy this album!

Yeah, this album is wonderful! I bought it last Saturday (legally), it’s sooner here in Europe than in US. Anyway, my favorite track is “Still In Love With My Ex”! But “Ghetto”, “Comeback” and “The Show” are hot too!

I have to agree with you I cop a copy myself. It seem like I’ve been waiting for ever. So many bangin tracks. One of my favorites is like this. I got a chance to see Kelly perform that hot joint with Eve last night on the bet award. I loved it. Kelly still doing her thang

I think this album is weak. I had just finnished listening to Rihanna album which is filled with a great array of tracks and then I went on to Ms.kelly and I wasn’t too happy. I adore kelly and I wish she stayed on her old stuff but enhanced it she didn’t need to take a new route. There isn’t one track on the album that stook to my head … All well I still love her

This album shines. It places Kelly Rowland in a light where she can best be seen and admired. Any person who truly loves and understands music will appreciate the style Ms. Kelly has created. I listen to the entire album full on and love every second of music she’s has given us. It is time to stop the comparisons!!! She is not Beyonce. She is not Ciara or Rihanna. And she never needs to be. She is in a game of her own. Ms. Kelly is Ms. Kelly and she is the best at what she does.

I’ve always been a fan of Kelly when she was still with Destiny’s Child and when she went solo with her first Cd. I have been waiting a whole year to get my hands on this new CD because she kept pushing it back but it was sure worth the wait. One of my favorites, is Love, and I love the beat to Work. Kelly has matured and I can physically and emotionally sense every word she sings in this album. I will definitely recommend this CD to anyone. I’m just happy that Ms. Kelly is finally getting the praise she deserves.
