ALBUM REVIEW: T.I. - T.I. VS T.I.P.

Mr. Tip Harris is back with his fifth studio album T.I. vs T.I.P. set to drop July 3rd off his independent label Grand Hustle. The album features guest appearances from Busta Rhymes, Eminem, Jay-Z, Wyclef Jean and other peeps; it also features production by Danja, Just Blaze, and the Runners. I actually think I get the whole aspect of this, he’s basically battling his himself, literally. The person he is and the person he used to be. It’s interesting, this album plays the roles. I really can’t give anything away but it’s a hard album and it has a lot of great production. There are actually a lot of tracks that are potential hits and personally relate to a family member’s life for me. My favorite from this album is “Tell ‘Em I Said That,” this is the absolute truth, ain’t no big shots in reality ya’ll. I hate fake people that live mediocre lives, especially in these cases with rappers, talking about ish you don’t even do or have done.

T.I. vs T.I.P. is a creative play on controversy in which Clifford “T.I.” Harris has inner self conflicting problem amongst himself as if he feels he is torn between the two popular personalities that everybody loves. This album is a very creative in that T.I. brings back alot of the style he had from his first albums like I’m Serious, Trap Muzik, and the Multi-Platinum album Urban Legend. This time around T.I.P. is bringing the street anthems that everybody loved back like “Help Is T.I. has found a way to bring it back to the streets. So with T.I. vs T.I.P. you choose your side and no that the KING back!

  • T.I. vs. T.I.P. is Tip’s best album beside Urban Legend. On the album he gives you best of both worlds. T.I.P. is suppose to represent the Al Capone of the hardcore gangsta rap, and T.I. represents Frank Sinatra as a smooth uplifting rapper. On T.I.’s part of the cd the beat to his songs sound like something Frank Sinatra would produce. Even though he didn’t use a lot of punch lines he flowed and sticked to the meaning of the songs. The only song that he didn’t do very well on was watch “what you say to me.” Who came out of the fight alive would have to be T.I. So all of you who said his album suck listen to it again then reply.
