So I was just cruising through cyberspace… and I’m not sure how I ended up here, nearly a year after the album was released, but I need to say something. Probably no one will read this but I have to get it all off my chest.

I am just SO EFFIN SICK and TIRED of people being so pretentious and giving up on their bands when the bands change a little bit. And it’s not just LP fans. If a band changes their sound, everyone complains about it. If they keep making the same type of music everyone says they’re boring, they lack creativity and all their songs sound the same. Change is a naturally occuring fact of life, and it doesn’t always have to be seen in a negative light.

Do you really wish music hadn’t changed at all in the last few centuries? Imagine how boring it would be if all we had was, like, operas, piano concertos, and lute-accompanied folk songs!! Bet you wouldn’t like it if music had stopped changing even as recently as a decade ago.

Learn to embrace change, people! When I listened to M2M for the first time back in May, it didn’t seem like HUGE departure to the point of sounding like a completely different band. It definately wasn’t the same thing, but they were already starting to move in a bit of a different direction on a few tracks of Meteora anyways. It was just a bit more subtle and a little less defined back then.

M2M was kind of like if your best friend moved to another country for a few years and then came back. S/he would probably look a bit different and his/her experiences would have changed him/her in a lot of ways, but s/he would still be the best friend you know and love.

Brent and Metal-head: if you are/were really such big fans you’d know that Linkin Park has always been influenced by many diverse types of music. Phoenix’s previous band was ska-punk, Rob has said he loves 70s funk, etc.

I will admit that there are a few tracks I don’t like so much, or that I think were a bit weak (*cough*In Between*cough*) or whatever. However, you can dislike, even hate some of a band’s songs and still be their fan. Or at least, I’m open-minded enough to.

I will also admit that Chester seems to have been a little too influenced by his techno-pop (pretending to be rock) Julien-K friends and the emo scene – at least his appearance, anyways.

This album is a funeral of linkin Park…..There were the Shit in Metora and Hybrid Theory…but this album is liiving proof that old bands die….Shit IS WEAK AS HELL!!!! wow…big let down

I could not possibly be more let down about this album. It’s absolutely retarded for an established band with a huge fan base to completely change their style on an entire album. Sounds like they all spent just a little too much time listening to punk music and “got influenced”. Sorry LP, your punk album is just plain shitty and an extreme disappointment. Please try to do better on your next CD. Oh and stay away from the crack -er…I mean punk music.

I was a huge linkin park fan when they released Hybrid Theory. That was for sure a kick ass album. Meteora was good, but from the tracks that i listened above. I am not impressed what so ever, I will not be buying this album for it seems like that they have totally changed their rythem and style of music, i’d mutch rather spend my money on bands that deserve it like Godsmack, and Staind.

Joe and Derrek: Yeah a lot of people said that, by the way I love Faint and Numb- still bump it in my iPod ’til this day so I am definitely a fan first, and I guess cause most of the music is conceptually based around current issues. People are not use to hearing music with depth and meaning. It makes them think too hard. What a pity: America.

I think their new album is pretty terrible. I was expecting an awsome summer album with hardcore hits like Faint and Numb. And whats this I’m hearing about how they made 100 songs and only released 13? To me that’s just stupid. Hope another album is on the way soon.

Was pretty shit to be honest, hate there new style. I liked it when they ‘limited’ them selfs it was much better. Anway this is just one persons view onit, I do like some of the songs maybe 2 or 3 but thats it. I loved Linkin park’s other albums! Sorry chester,Mike,Brad,dave(phoenix),Joe and rob. Please on your next album do what your good at and leave the shit stuff to the crap bands. Cause you are my favorite band :( …..(or was)
