ALBUM REVIEW: Amerie - Because I Love It

After months of postponing Amerie will finally release her third studio album, Because I Love It, Summer of 2007. Luckily enough, I had the honor of listening to the album in it’s full entirety and so I decided on writing a quick review, as well as posting a couple songs for your listening pleasure, for you guys because I love you so much and I want to share this beautiful music. The album talks about some adversities; “Forecast,” “Gotta Work” typical trails in relationships; “Hate2LoveU,” “Somebody Up There,” “When Lovin’ You Was Easy,” “Paint Me Over” as well as love; “Crush,” “That’s What You Are,” “Crazy Wonderful” all which are always excellent mediums in an album, in my opinion. It also has a few dance groves; “Take Control,” “Some Like It,” “1 Thing,” “Losing U.” My favorite track is, of course, “Gotta Work” – the anthem of my life, “Crush,” and “Paint Me Over.”

  • The first two songs are ugh, vocals and lyrics could’ve been better. BUT I love the last two songs, especially “Somebody Up There”. The beat is sooooo soothing and her voice sounds great.

  • The whole album is hot to death. I love the whole 80’s R&B vibe of it, and Amerie’s vocals are on point as usual. She is one of the most underrated female artist in the game, and always has been since she came out. People dont take the time out to actually listen to her lyrics and ish. Shes really good!

Well, she can sing but for her to try and compare herself to beyonce? lets all be honest, beyonce has more vocal range and control over them than Amerie. Amerie must be dizzy as hell if she thinks beyonce is biting her style? She doesnt need to at all. The song 1 thing, sounded beyonce-ish to me. So who’s really biting? Im sorry amerie, your good, alot better than some, but beyonce can sing you under a carpet lil lady. Dont be big headed be thankful

  • Amerie is not trying 2 bite beyonce style, she has her own style! and we all have our own opionons, and i think Amerie is WAY better than beyonce at singing and dancing.
