Fantasia Barrino was overwhelmed and in tears as she took her curtain call after her first performance in The Color Purple on Broadway Tuesday night! Congratulations to her! And I hear she was the reason for $6 million worth of advance tickets being sold! Damn ‘tasia, you gettin it ain’t you!
“It’s such a blessing,” Fantasia told the Daily News . “I’d never even been to a Broadway show. It’s exciting to think that people who’ve never been will come to see the show.”

According to various news outlets, MSNBC has announced that they are pulling the plug on that crappy Don Imus radio show! It’s a devastating move that could signal the beginning of the end of the radio career of one of the most influential broadcasters in American history. I don’t know if this means anything to you all, but I personally didn’t know the dude before last week! Real talk! But that’s what his racist ass gets! This is a major step towards prosperity for us black folk =D We got da white man fired! Hallelujar!

Who says our “Who Owns the Look?” posts have to apply to fashion? And who classified it to only celebrities?! We sure as hell didn’t, which is why I chose complete nobodies this time around. Mr. Sanjaya Malakar and Mr. Pedro Sanchez are the contendors for who’s rocking the best look! Sanjaya is photographed on Tuesday night’s performance episode of American Idol, and Pedro Sanchez (from Napoleon Dynamite) is photographed being … well, Pedro! I must say, Sanjaya is keeping it consistent every week re-inventing his style and what-not. I mean c’mon, give him some credit .. the guy even grew a ’stache and goatee!! I can’t wait to see what he’ll rock next week…… Oh, and for those that don’t watch that AI garbage, his wack ass still hasn’t gotten voted off yet, so maybe we have next week to look forward to. By the way, my vote for this goes to Pedro! You can’t jack someone’s swagga Sanjaya, you just can’t! But my question to you, of course, is WHO OWNS THE LOOK??

Rapper Snoop Dogg has dismissed comparisons between sexist hip hop lyrics and the recent racist remarks made by American radio DJ Don Imus. Imus was suspended by CBS Radio and MSNBC on Monday after he referred to the Rutgers University women’s basketball team as ‘nappy-headed hoes’ – a racially charged sexist term. Snoop frequently refers to women as “b**ches” and “hoes” in his music, but insists Imus’ use of the term was unacceptable and the 66-year-old DJ should be taken off the air.
Snoop says, “It’s a completely different scenario. (Rappers) are not talking about no collegiate basketball girls who have made it to the next level in education and sports. We’re talking about hoes that’s in the ‘hood that ain’t doing shit, that’s trying to get a nigga for his money. These are two separate things. First of all, we ain’t no old-ass white men that sit up on MSNBC going hard on black girls. We are rappers that have these songs coming from our minds and our souls that are relevant to what we feel. I will not let them muthafuckas say we are in the same league as him … Kick him off the air forever.”
Well spoken Snoopy, if I must say so myself! I couldn’t have put it any better. What do you guys think??
Pop star Pink heaped praise on chat show host Jimmy Kimmel last night after learning he had fought hard to allow her to perform controversial new tune Dear Mr. President. Pink’s musical letter to George W. Bush has been unofficially banned from radio stations in the U.S. and Pink told Kimmel many DJs have been told they can’t even talk about the track or chat to her about it if she’s a guest.
In the controversial song, Pink asks, “How can you say no child is left behind/We’re not dumb and we’re not blind/They’re all sitting in your cells/While you pave the road to hell.” The super-critical song continues, “What kind of father would take his own daughter’s rights away/And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay/I can only imagine what the first lady has to say/You’ve come a long way from whisky and cocaine.”
Pink told the Jimmy Kimmel Live host, “I have to thank you so much (because) you’re the only show that’s not afraid of letting me sing Dear Mr. President… I can’t even speak about it on radio. “It’s a questioning song. I think that’s one of my more intelligent songs… These are my questions, they’re not theoretical. I think they’re questions that a lot of people have and we could probably use some answers.” When Kimmel joked if the pop star was hoping Bush will reply with a song attacking her, she quipped, “Yes, through Eminem.”
Haha I love Pink, and I love that song! It’s so true. And it’s also sad how this country likes to censor and block things. We supposedly have the right to freedom of speech, but it seems like that particular ”right” is being taken away slowly but surely.
Michael Jackson and 50 Cent are reportedly working on a new single, called Trial Of The Century. The track covers Jackson’s legal and personal woes from the last few years, including his child molestation trial. Meanwhile, AllHipHop.com reports the pop superstar is getting into the street mix tape market under the name The MJ Unit. 50 Cent is the latest big name to be connected to Jackson’s comeback album. Jackson has also been working with Akon, Will.i.am and Chris Brown, among others.
I can’t wait to see/hear the outcome of this! This .. should .. be .. very interesting =)
