Eve is making a comeback and she’s the only female rapper left in the game! “Here I Am” is the album, coming August 7th with production from Timbaland, Scott Storch, Swizz Beatz, Cool & Dre, Pharrell and Sean Paul. And for those of you in Fantasia Barrino’s book club (sorry I had to do it!), Swizz Beatz produced “Tambourine.” Check out the first single from the album below!!

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown has named her new daughter Angel Iris Murphy Brown, PEOPLE has confirmed. The child, born on April 3, is named in part after Eddie Murphy, whom Brown, 31, says is the baby’s father. Murphy, 46, has said he wants a paternity test. “Melanie spent a while deciding on the baby’s name,” a friend of the singer tells PEOPLE. “It was inspired by a number of things.” On Tuesday, Brown, who lives in Los Angeles, explained the name in a brief statement released through her London reps. “Angel, as she was my little angel through my pregnancy,” she said. “Iris, as it’s my grandma’s name, Murphy because he’s the dad and Brown because I’m the mum!” Angel Iris is the second child for the former Scary Spice. She has an 8-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi, with her ex-husband, dancer Jimmy Gulzar. In March, Murphy’s new girlfriend, film producer Tracey Edmonds, told Chicago’s Power 92 radio station of Murphy: “There’ll be a paternity test and if it’s his then he’ll be responsible.”

This girl don’t play no games! First she had the baby on ol’ dude’s birthday, and now she’s given her his last name!! There’s no doubt in my mind that Eddie is the father of this child, and he’s being really dumb about the situation by paying for a paternity test when he damn well knows what the results are gonna be. If it was Johnny Gill instead of Mel B, you think he would be putting up this much of a fight?? No siree, Bob!

It seems that Beyoncé’s label didn’t bother to ask permission before recording “Still In Love (Kissing You),” which was originally recorded by Des’ree under the title “I’m Kissing You,” Beyoncé’s camp tried to obtain permission to re-record the song-but failed. Beyoncé then allegedly blew off the copyright laws.

“It was one of my all-time favorite songs,” she said. “So I just did it for myself — a lot of songs, I do like that — and I let people hear it and they were like, ‘You are crazy, you have to put it on the album.’ So I did. It was a last-minute decision.” CONTINUE READING

Wow, talk about ironic, me posting this right after the Luda post… But anyway, yeah I guess Shawnna is saying goodbye to DTP, she’s packing up and doing her own thing right now and possibly going solo perhaps?

Jeff Dixon, Co-CEO of DTP Records, says the Chicago bred rapper wasn’t dropped by the label but chose to leave “to do her own thing.” DTP will make the official announcement on Thursday During the aforementioned press conference, DTP will also announce the return of a familiar face to its roster. Shawnna will still appear on the upcoming DTP compilation album, Strength In Numbers, which will hit shelves in July.

I haven’t even really heard from this girl in a quite awhile now- come to think of it, I haven’t heard from Shareefa, Field Mob, none of them over there at DTP Records, what’s going on over there Luda!? Lol.

I must say I am really disappointed in M.I.A. with her latest single “Boyz,” the beat sounds a lot like “Bird Flu,” but I may be just hearing things. Don’t get me wrong! I am a crazy M.I.A. fan, it’s just that, I am not in favor of this particular track. But moving on, you can hear “Boyz” (the rip), from her new album entitled Kala, below and decide- as a special bonus I got the remix to Bird Flu from my boy Ray which you can listen to below!! I must say, “Bird Flu” the remix is the SHEIIIT!! And M.I.A. is such an inspiration, she is a true musical sojourner, with her unique sound and style.

Well it appears the great search to find the next Pussycat Doll is finally over!! The show premiered in early March and already had people talking that homegurl might win (so I hear apparently) so, Congratulations Asia! Although I, on the other hand, wasn’t really that much into the show like that and I really can’t critique it like I’d like to, (lol) so I’m a need ya’ll to fill me in a little bit more! BUT, I do know that we should have a new single from the group (including Asia) this Summer which is great! I also hear on some other music blogs that the PussyCat’s [rumored] album is going to be entitled Double The Trouble. Hmmm…
